And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alterations
of the boundaries of the said city recommended by the said
commission :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corpora-
tions Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Do-
minion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the twentieth
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen,
the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be
included in the City of Christchurch, and shall form part of
the Sydenham Ward thereof ; and that the boundaries of
the said Sydenham Ward shall be those described in the
Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a
line commencing on the left bank of the Heathcote River at
the bridge between Tennyson Street and Burnbrae Street,
then ce across the said river and along the northern side of
Burnbrae Street to and across St. Martin’s Road, along the
eastern side of that road to and along the northern side of
Hills Road to the watercourse about midway between Heath-
cote and Victoria Streets, and along the said watercourse to
and across the Heathcote River, and thence along the present
boundary of the City of Christchurch to the bridge at Tenny-
son Street, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

SYDENHAM WARD.

ALL that area in the City of Christchurch bounded by a line
along the southern side of Moorhouse Avenue from Lower
Lincoln Road to Fitzgerald Avenue, along the eastern side of
Fitzgerald Avenue to Ferry Road, along the southern side of
Ferry Road to Wilson’s Road, the western side of Wilson’s
Road to the reserve for the Christchurch-Lyttelton Railway,
along the north-eastern side of that reserve to the River
Heathcote, along the left bank of that river to a point opposite
the watercourse from Hills Road near Heathcote Street,
then ce across the river and along the said watercourse to
Hills Road, along the northern side of Hills Road to and
along the eastern side of St. Martin’s Road to a point op-
posite the northern side of Burnbrae Street, thence to and
along the northern side of that street to the Tennyson Street
Bridge, thence across the Heathcote River and along its left
bank to Colombo Street, along the eastern side of that street
to Stickland Street, along the north-eastern side of Stickland
Street, the northern side of South Crescent Road, the northern
side of Jerrold Street, and the north-eastern side of Bright’s
Road to Lower Lincoln Road, and along the south-eastern
side of that road to Moorhouse Avenue, the place of com-
mencement.
