Borough of Sumner taken on the 14th day of December, 1916, on the proposal of the Sumner Borough Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of purchasing the freehold of the municipal buildings at present occupied by the Council, being all that parcel of land situate in the Borough of Sumner, containing 20 perches (more or less), being the whole of Lot 31 on deposit plan 3042, part of Rural Section 2, together with all improvements thereon, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 142, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £400 for widening and metalling the Kaikokopu Road.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Kaikokopu Road Special-rating District (Waitotara County) was taken on the 29th day of November, 1916, on the proposal of the Waitotara County Council to borrow the sum of £400 for widening and metalling the Kaikokopu Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 20; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 8.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Prohibition of Money-order and Postal Correspondence for Mother Earth Publishing Company and the Critic and Guide Company, New York.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the association and the company whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in immoral businesses, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said association or of the said company shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said association or to the said company (in the case of either by its own or any fictitious or assumed name), or to the Manager, Secretary, or other officer of the association or of the company, or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the St. Kilda Borough Council has, by special order, declared gorse, elderberry, and broom to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.
