Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the
Wellington Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of
the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen
of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it
expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any
area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of
the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any
other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by
way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-
five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land
so granted:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is ex-
pedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First
Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in
the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land
described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such
exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers
and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention
to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described
in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple
of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE
EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by
admeasurement 19 acres 0 roods 36 perches, more or less,
being Section 9, Block IV, Gorge Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-west by the Manchester Block, 1253.6
links; towards the north-east by Sections 3 and 4, Block II,
Gorge Survey District, 4003.3 links; and towards the
south-east generally by Section 10, Block IV, Gorge Survey
District, 650.3, 419, 518.3, 425.3, 589, 721.2, 333.4, 176.7,
217, 127.3, and 580.4 links.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 4 acres 0 roods 15 perches, more or less,
being Section 5, Block IV, Gorge Survey District. Com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 5,
Block II, Gorge Survey District, distant 1779.9 links from
its southern corner, and bounded towards the north-west by
said Section 5, 1197 links; and towards the north-east and
south-east generally by Section 6, Block IV, Gorge Survey
District, 289.6, 384.7, 592.9, and 429.4 links, to the place of
commencement.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 2 roods 2 perches, more or less,
being Section 3, Block IV, Gorge Survey District, commencing
at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 5, Block II,
Gorge Survey District, distant 2261.5 links from the northern-
most corner of Section 5, hereinbefore described, and bounded
towards the north-west by Section 5, Block II, Gorge Survey
District, 756.4 links; and towards the south-east generally
by Sections 1 and 6, Block IV, Gorge Survey District, 575.6
and 238.9 links, to the place of commencement.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are
delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 22/1042, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, and thereon bordered red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 2 roods 21 perches, more or less, being
part of Section 4, Block II, Gorge Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-east by other part of Section 4 aforesaid,
610.9 links; towards the south-east by part of Section 5,
Block II aforesaid, 222.6 links; and towards the south-west
by Section 10, Block IV, Gorge Survey District, 568.9 links.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, contain-
ing by admeasurement 3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being
part of Section 5, Block II, Gorge Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-west by Section 4, Block II aforesaid,
222.6 links; towards the north-east generally by other part
of Section 5 aforesaid, 6.7, 368.5, and 191.9 links; and to-
wards the south-west by Section 10, Block IV, Gorge Survey
District, 496.5 links.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 10 acres 0 roods 11 perches, more
or less, being part of Section 5, Block II, Gorge Survey District.
Bounded towards the north-east generally by other part of
Section 5, 638.6, 249.7, and 1202.3 links; towards the south-
east and south-west by Section No. 6, Block IV, Gorge
Survey District, 1779.9 and 1017.1 links.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, contain-
ing by admeasurement 1 rood 21 perches, more or less, being
part of Section 5, Block II, Gorge Survey District. Com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 5,
Block II, Gorge Survey District, distant 686.6 links in a
southerly direction from its junction with the north-eastern
boundary-line of Section 1, Block IV, Gorge Survey District,
and bounded towards the south-east by Section 1 aforesaid,
804.9 links; towards the south-west and north-west generally
by part of Section 5, Block II aforesaid, 148.7, 62.9, 519.1,
and 100 links, to the point of commencement.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are
delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 22/1042, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wel-
lington, and thereon bordered red.

this thirtieth day of December, one thousand nine

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint
CHARLES EDWARD STICKINGS
to be a Trustee, in the places of John Sinclair Chisholm
and Benjamin Butcher, resigned, to provide for the main-
tenance and care of the Pleasant Point Public Cemetery,
in conjunction with William Halstead, George Butler, John
Greig, John Murphy, John Maize, and Ellis Metcalf Hal-
stead, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirtieth day of December, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Appointing Commissioners to classify Runs in Canterbury
Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by sections five and two hundred and
twenty-five of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrant of the twelfth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, pub-
lished in Gazette No. 78, of the twentieth day of July, one
thousand nine hundred and sixteen, appointing Commis-
sioners to classify and report on rural lands in Canterbury
Land District, and do hereby appoint
WILLIAM HENRY SKINNER,
ROBERT MACAULAY, and
DAVID STOWELL
Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural
lands in the Canterbury Land District known as Runs Nos. 47,
66, and 44, as provided by the said section two hundred and
twenty-five.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-first day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen.
