HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force:—

NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.

Honorary Lieutenant Douglas Gordon Hunter (attached) is granted the rank of Honorary Captain whilst employed as Command-Paymaster, Otago Military District. Dated 8th February, 1917.

8TH (SOUTH CANTERBURY) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major John Kennedy is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 3rd February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND GARRISON ARTILLERY.

Wellington G.A. Division.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Leonard William Tomlin is confirmed.

2nd Lieutenant Leonard William Tomlin to be Lieutenant, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 21st December, 1916.

CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.

No. 2 Field Company.

Lieutenant Owen Vivian Davies is attached for duty to the N.Z. Dental Corps, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst acting as Deputy Assistant Director of Dental Services, Otago Military District. Dated 30th January, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND POST AND TELEGRAPH CORPS.

Lieutenant Robert Francis Coghill Scott to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 29th January, 1917.

5TH (WELLINGTON) REGIMENT.

The appointment of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants on probation are confirmed:—

Ernest Hollis.
David Cornelius Bowler.
John Bosley Bennett.
Charles Cockburn Miles.

William Henry Neville Amos to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 20th December, 1916.

9TH (HAWKE’S BAY) REGIMENT.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) John Walter Snaddon is confirmed.

11TH REGIMENT (TARANAKI RIFLES).

Captain William James Shepherd to be Major, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 29th January, 1917.

Lieutenant Godfrey Wells is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment with rank of Captain. Dated 6th March, 1917.

Thomas Gladstone Thomson to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 29th January, 1917.

14TH (SOUTH OTAGO) REGIMENT.

Lieutenant Andrew Logan McDowell to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 2nd February, 1917.

Lieutenant John George Johnston is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment. Dated 28th February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS.

Auckland Section.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 16th January, 1917:

NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.

Major (temporary Lieutenant-Colonel) Louis E. Barnett, Consulting Surgeon to the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is retained on the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force with his present rank and appointment, without pay, with effect from 30th January, 1917.
