Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Takahue Survey District, for the Purposes of a Drill-shed.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a drill shed in Block V, Takahue Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaitaia, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 1 rood 5 perches.
Portion of Church Mission Estate at Kaitaia, Block V, Takahue Survey District (S.O. 19318).
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41710, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured edged pink.

Revoking Appointments of Post Officers to take Statutory Declarations of Postmasters and other Post Officers.

IN pursuance of powers delegated to me under section 8, clause (d), of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, I, William Fraser, acting for the Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the warrants issued under the authority conferred by section 10, subsection (2), of the Post Office Act, 1900, dated the 1st day of August, 1907, and the 28th day of November, 1907, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 22nd day of August, 1907, and the 5th day of December, 1907, respectively, and the warrants issued under the authority conferred by section 9, subsection (2), of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, dated the 26th day of February, 1912, and the 13th day of June, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th day of March, 1912, and the 18th day of June, 1914, respectively, in so far as they appoint the following Post officers to take statutory declarations of Postmasters and other Post officers; and do hereby order that, except as altered by this warrant and previous warrants of similar import, the said warrants of the 1st day of August, 1907, the 28th day of November, 1907, the 26th day of February, 1912, and the 13th day of June, 1914, shall continue in full force and effect:—

Notice is hereby given that at a poll of ratepayers of the Wairoa River Bridge Special-rating District taken on the 2nd day of February, 1917, on the proposal to borrow £8,500 for providing half the cost of a bridge over the Wairoa River at Dargaville, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 327; against the proposal, 34.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans (Two).
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that polls of the ratepayers of the Mangawara Drainage Boards, No. 1 and No. 2 areas, were taken on the 9th February, 1917, on the proposal of the Mangawara Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £750 for each area for the carrying-out of necessary drainage-works.
