Major H. T. D. Acland, F.R.C.S., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 31st October, 1916.
Captain T. McKibbin, M.B., is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 30th November, 1916.
Captain (temp. Major) A. Clark, F.R.C.S., relinquishes the temporary rank of Major. Dated 18th October, 1916.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of 25th January, 1917, relative to Lieutenant H. G. Brodie being granted the temporary rank of Captain, for the words “10th October, 1916” read “16th October, 1916,” vide paragraph 60, List No. 31, New Zealand Expeditionary Force Orders.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, of 11th January, relative to Dr. S. D. Rhind being taken on the strength of the New Zealand Medical Corps, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, with the rank of Captain, is amended to read with the rank of Lieutenant, vide paragraph 108A, List No. 31, New Zealand Expeditionary Force Orders.
ERRATUM.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of 25th January, 1917, relative to the promotion of Captain A. F. Batchelar to the rank of Major (Wellington Mounted Rifles), it is regretted that the words “for good service in the field” were omitted.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, Staff, and Territorial Force:—
NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.
David Smith is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant temporarily whilst holding the appointment of Acting Command Paymaster, Auckland Military District, and is attached. Dated 29th January, 1917.
STAFF.
Captain George Frederick Hutton, D.S.O., Royal Welsh Fusiliers, is appointed Musketry Instructor (temp.) for the Canterbury Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst so employed. Dated 1st January, 1917.
CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.
New Zealand Post and Telegraph Corps (North Island Battalion).
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (temp.), vice officers on active service. Dated 19th January, 1917:—

Lieutenant Percy Arthur Seymour Stephens is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment. Dated 24th February, 1917.
17th (Ruahine) Regiment.
Captain William Saunderson Cooper is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force and absorbed into the Establishment. Dated 24th February, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS.
Motor-car Section.
Lieutenant Godfrey Norris Pharazyn resigns his commission. Dated 23rd June, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Sydney George Nathan resigns his appointment. Dated 20th June, 1916.
NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain (temp. Major) Garnet Wilson Harty, M.B., B.S., Edin., F.R.C.S. Edin., is appointed a Consulting Ophthalmic Surgeon to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 26th January, 1917.
Thomas Gerald Harpur, M.B., B.S., to be Captain. Dated 19th January, 1917.
Samuel Llewellyn Serpell to be Captain (temp.) whilst doing duty with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 22nd January, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.
The undermentioned to be Honorary Captains whilst acting as Expert Dental Advisers to Medical Boards during the period of the war, with effect from 31st January, 1917:—

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, of 11th January, 1917, “Appointment of Officers for duty with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Hospital Ship ‘Maheno’ (No. 3 Charter),” for the words “A. McKenzie” read “Annie Draper nee A. McKenzie.”
