These by-laws were duly made by the Waitara West
Road Road by a special order passed on the 4th day of
April, 1916, and confirmed on the 9th day of May, 1916.

The common seal of the inhabitants of the Waitara West
Road District was affixed to the above by-law in pursuance
of a resolution passed on the 9th day of May, 1916.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Manawatu, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans
Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the
Main Drain Bridges Special-rating District, County of Mana-
watu, was taken on 31st day of January, 1917, on the proposal
of the Manawatu County Council to borrow a sum of £2,000
for the purpose of reconstruction of bridges on Main Drain
Road.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 40;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the
Borough of Green Island.

Wellington, 1st February, 1917.
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations
Amendment Act, 1913, it is notified that a
petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less
than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the
Schedule hereto, being part of the County of Taieri, has been
presented to His Excellency the Governor, praying that the
said area may be excluded from the said county and included
in the Borough of Green Island. All persons affected are
hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or
petitions against the proposed alteration within one month
from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or
petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister
of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF GREEN
ISLAND.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line
along the present boundary of the Borough of Green Island
from the westernmost corner of Allotment 63 of Section 1,
Block XV, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to the
north-eastern corner of Allotment 13, Township of Concord,
along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 13 and 14, across
Mulford Street, along the eastern boundary of Allotment 46,
and the south-western boundaries of Allotments 46, 45, 44,
43, 42, 41, 40, and 39, Township of Concord, to Emerson
Street, along the eastern side of that street to a point in line
with the south-western side of Thoreau Street; thence to
and along the south-western side of that street to Allotment 63
aforesaid, and along the southern boundary of that allotment
to its westernmost corner, the place of commencement.

District, for Road Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work-to wit, the construction of a road
in Block VI, Karioi Survey District; and for the purposes
of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby

further given that the plan of the land so required to
be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kauroa, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the
said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Revoking Prohibition of Money-orders and Postal Corre-
spondence for J. Stellin, Wellington.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand being satisfied that the person whose name
and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is no
longer engaged in receiving money as the consideration for
an assurance or agreement implied to pay money on events
relating to horse-races, hereby rescinds the order made on
the 23rd day of September, 1913, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette of the 25th day of September, 1913, for-
bidding that any money-order in favour of the said person
shall be issued, and that any postal packet addressed to the
said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed
name), or to the said address without a name, shall be
registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of
New Zealand, and orders that such money-orders shall be
issued, and that such postal packets shall be registered.
