Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VII and VIII,
Otanewainuku Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in
Blocks VII and VIII, Otanewainuku Survey District, and
for the purposes of such public work the land described in
the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice
is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Oropi, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the
said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be
taken:—

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured as above mentioned.

Regulations for the Brewing of Hop-beer in Breweries.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by Part III of the Finance Act,
1915, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me
in this behalf, I, Arthur Mielziner Myers, Minister of Customs,
do hereby make the following regulations governing the
brewing of hop-beer in breweries.
REGULATIONS.
- It shall be lawful for a brewer holding a license to brew
hop-beer to use the plant in his brewery for the manufacture
of such beer provided that due notice of intention to brew
hop-beer is given in one of the forms numbered 6 or 7 in the
Schedule to the Beer Duty Regulations of the 1st December,
1915, with such adaptation as may be necessary, and further
provided that the materials used in the brewing of hop-beer
shall be entered in the brewer’s book, with a note to specify
such use, under the heading, “Account of Materials for
Brewing for the Month of , 19 ,” and that the
hop-beer made shall be accounted for in the brewer’s book
in the same manner as beer subject to excise duty, excepting
that across the three columns headed “Rate of Duty,”
“Amount of Duty,” and “When Duty paid,” the words,
“Hop-beer, free of duty,” shall be written, and that such
hop-beer shall be omitted from the Summary of Account of
Beer for the month. - Every person who commits a breach of these regulations
shall be liable to a penalty of £50. - These regulations shall come into force on the 1st day
of January, 1918.
