IT having been reported to me that Hitchings, Hankins, and Co. (Limited) has ceased to carry on business, I hereby give notice that at the expiration of three months from date hereof the name of such company will, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the Register, and the company will be dissolved.

GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Greytown Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Greytown Borough Council by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of abandoning the site for the septic tank as first selected, and continuing the main sewer down beyond the Maori Pa to a site in the vicinity of the lower end of the Mangarara Stream, the said Greytown Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three-farthings in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Greytown, comprising the whole of the Greytown Borough ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, David Pell Loasby, Mayor of Greytown, hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Greytown Borough Council held on the 22nd day of November, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between us, the undersigned, PERCY BEAUCHAMP LOMAX, of Motueka, Land Agent, AUGUSTUS WILLIAM JONES, of Christchurch, Jeweller, and WILLIAM HENRY BRICE, of Christchurch, Manufacturer, in the land business carried on by us in the Motueka District, in the Provincial District of Nelson, under the firm-name of “Brice and Jones,” was dissolved on the 30th day of September, 1917.

WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

THE following resolution to make and levy a special rate was passed at a special meeting of the Waitara Borough Council held on Monday, 26th November, 1917 :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows,—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of fifteen hundred pounds (£1,500), authorized to be raised by the Waitara Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of re-erecting damaged bridge over the Waitara River at Waitara known as the “Waitara Traffic-bridge,” the Waitara Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Waitara, comprising the whole of the said borough ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off.
