Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Lands other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend the Order in Council made the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, for a further period of six months, but only in so far as it affects the lands specified in the Schedule hereto, prohibiting all alienations of such lands other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, prohibiting all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Revoking Order in Council licensing Thomas Hartley and Son to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Land below Low-water Mark in the Waima River, Hokianga, as a Site for Timber-booms.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1917.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67, of the seventh day of the same month, Thomas Hartley and Thomas Francis Hartley, trading under the style or title of “Thomas Hartley and Son,” of Kohukohu, were licensed to occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark in the Waima River, in the Hokianga County, in order to construct thereon timber-booms :
And whereas such part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark in the Waima River, in the Hokianga County, is not now required by Thomas Hartley and Son, and it is desirable that the said Order in Council of the fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, should be revoked :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
SAMUEL CROW
to be a trustee, in the place of Alexander Crow, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Maheno Public Cemetery, in conjunction with William Webster Wylie, William Paterson Reid, Robert Cochrane Wilson, and William Bell Currie, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands reserved under the said Act), for the period of three years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,--
THE COMMISSIONER OF CROWN LANDS for the Canterbury Land District (ex officio);
HENRY GEORGE ELL, Esq., M.P., Spreydon, Christchurch;
CHARLES CHILTON, Esq., M.A., D.Sc., F.L.S., Christchurch;
WILLIAM REECE, Esq., Christchurch;
ARTHUR ROSCOE VERNON MORTEN, Esq., Riccarton, Christchurch;
GEORGE THOMAS BOOTH, Esq., Opawa, Christchurch;
GEORGE HARPER, Esq., Riccarton, Christchurch; and
WALTER FOX PARKINSON, Esq., Kaituna,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Tuesday in each month, at half past three o’clock p.m., at the District Lands Office, Christchurch, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Tuesday, the fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
