And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said road; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken:—

0 0 16·4 Lot 23 of Allotment 60; coloured yellow.
0 1 0·6 " 29 " 60 " red.
0 0 39·7 " 30 " 60 " blue.
0 0 13 " 30 " 60 " blue.

Situated in Karaka Parish, Block XI, Drury Survey District. (S.O. 19656.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42892, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Allocating to the Purposes of a Street Land in Block VII, Waimate Survey District, taken for a Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Manaiā Branch of the Eltham-Opunake Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a street:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Public Works that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Manaiā Town District, the local authority of which has consented to the issue of this Proclamation, and appears to be the local authority most capable of conveniently and effectively controlling and maintaining the said street:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a street, and that the said street shall be maintained by the Manaiā Town Board, in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land dealt with: 1 rood 20 perches.

Portion of railway land (formerly part Kaepe Street) situated in Town of Manaiā, Block VII, Waimate Survey District (Manaiā Town District).

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40630 (sheet 6), deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Stopping a Government Road in Block I, Takahue Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a road:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road hereby stopped: 2 acres 2 roods.

Adjoining or passing through Lot 1 of Allotment 23, Parish of Awanui, Block I, Takahue Survey District. (S.O. 19812.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43227, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.
