Lieutenant (temp. Honorary Captain) Aaron Henry Rothenberg, New Zealand Dental Corps, relinquishes his appointment as Dental Examining Officer to a District Medical Board, and the honorary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 1st November, 1917.

Lieutenant Claude Henry Thomas Skelley, Unattached List (b), is appointed Assistant Provost Marshal, Otago Military District. Dated 12th November, 1917.

Lieutenant Jack Horneman, Unattached List (b), is appointed an Attesting Officer under the Military Service Act, 1916. Dated 5th November, 1917.

Honorary Lieutenant Edward Humphrey Bracey, Unattached List (b), General List, is appointed an Attesting Officer under the Military Service Act, 1916. Dated 8th October, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE TRAINING CAMPS.
The notification published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 141, of the 13th September, 1917, relating to Captain Thomas White Sommerville, Unattached List (b), General List, is cancelled, and the following substituted: Captain Thomas White Sommerville, Unattached List (b), General List, is appointed Assistant Quartermaster on the “Rationing and Messing” Staff, Featherston Camp. Dated 24th July, 1917.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) John Hunter Strauchon, New Zealand Dental Corps, performed the duties of Dental Examining Officer to a District Medical Board from the 21st September, 1917, to the 1st November, 1917, is detailed for duty at Trentham Camp, and retains the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 1st November, 1917.

Auckland G.A. Division.

Lieutenant William Roberts is attached for duty to the Royal N.Z. Artillery (temp.) whilst employed at Auckland Forts. Dated 27th October, 1917.

Lieutenant James Meade Ferguson is attached for duty to the Royal New Zealand Artillery (temp.) whilst employed at Wellington Forts. Dated 27th October, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) Robert Westley Bothamley relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant on ceasing to act as Ship’s Quartermaster on H.M.N.Z. transports. Dated 18th November, 1917.

Captain Frank Percival Osmond Smith (Reserve of Officers) is temporarily attached. Dated 19th February, 1915.

Captain Henry William Martindale Kendall is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 9th November, 1917.

The appointment of the Reverend Delacourt Russell, Chaplain to the Forces, 3rd Class, is extended for a further period of two years, as from the 1st October, 1917.

With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 52, of the 22nd March, 1917, relating to the Reverend James Joseph McMenemy, delete the word “temp.”

The Reverend James Alexander Jermyn to be Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class. Dated 3rd November, 1917.

UNATTACHED LIST (b).

Lieutenant Harold John Drummond Sheldon ceases to be attached to the New Zealand Garrison Artillery (Wellington G.A. Division). Dated 27th October, 1917.

Lieutenant Harold John Drummond Sheldon is attached for duty to the Royal N.Z. Artillery (temp.) whilst employed at Wellington Forts. Dated 27th October, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant Ernest Percival Fenton to be Lieutenant. Dated 27th August, 1917.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Stanley Gordon Robinson is confirmed.

2nd Lieutenant Reginald Marcus Sterndale, having permanently left the Dominion, relinquishes his rank and appointment, and is struck off the strength, with effect from 30th October, 1917.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Robert William Winter lapses under the provisions of paragraph 89, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 6th November, 1917.

UNATTACHED LIST (b), GENERAL LIST.

2nd Lieutenant Francis Leslie Chapman, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 5th December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 24th July, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 150, of the 4th October, 1917).

2nd Lieutenant Frederick Allen Ellis, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 5th December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 27th March, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 150, of the 4th October, 1917).

The undermentioned are granted the honorary rank of 2nd Lieutenant (temp.) whilst employed for duty with the Featherston Camp Canteen. Dated 10th November, 1917 :—
