of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall thereupon cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license. The electric lines along McBratney's Road between Dudley Creek and the River Avon, and along New Brighton Road between the bridge over the River Avon known as the Bower Bridge and the western boundary of the Borough of New Brighton, shall remain only during the pleasure of the Waimairi County Council.

  1. REQUIREMENTS OF WAIMAIRI AND HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCILS.

Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, the licensee shall not be entitled to erect, maintain, or use any electric lines within the Waimairi County or the Heathcote County, except subject to such conditions, not inconsistent with the provisions of this license and the regulations relating thereto, or any variation of this license or these regulations, or any new regulations which may take the place of these regulations, as may from time to time be agreed upon between the licensee and the Waimairi County Council or the Heathcote County Council, as the case may be.

Prohibiting the Importation of Preparations purporting to be Remedies for Drink and Drug Habits.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of November, 1917.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is, in his opinion, necessary for the prevention of fraud or deception:

And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General the prohibition of the importation of the goods specified in the Schedule hereto is necessary for the prevention of fraud and deception:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon him as aforesaid, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of the goods specified in the Schedule hereto.

THE Keeley Cure for Opium Habit, Drunkenness, Neurasthenia, Tobacco Habit.

Woods’ Treatment for Alcohol, Drug, and Tobacco Habits.

Drink Habit Cure (Neale Institute Company, Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A.).

Antidipso.

Any preparation purporting to be a remedy for drunkenness, alcoholic habit, opium habit, tobacco habit, cocaine habit, or other drug habits.

Recreation Reserve in Auckland Land District brought under Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Springdale Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

SCHEDULE.

SPRINGDALE DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section 3, Block XI, Waitoa Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections 1A and 1 in the aforesaid Block XI, 1000 links; towards the north-east by the aforesaid Section 1, 1000 links; towards the south-east by Section 5 (school-site) and Section 4 (creamery-site), 1000 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 1000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on plan marked L. and S. 1/627, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 16433.)

Regulations for the Branding of Wrappers or other Covering for Meat.—Notice No. 1903.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of November, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section sixty-one of the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time make regulations which he deems necessary in order to fully give effect to the purposes of the said Act:

And whereas it is deemed expedient, in order to fully give effect to the purposes of the said Act, to make provision with respect to the marking of bags, wrappers, or other coverings for meat for export:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend clause sixteen of the regulations deemed to have originated under the said Act, made and gazetted on the fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and two, by adding after the words “portion of a carcase” the words “or on any bag, wrapping, or covering thereof”; and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Revocation of an Order in Council prohibiting all Alienations of certain Native Land other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of November, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under that section may at any time be varied or revoked:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, affecting the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
