said Order in Council of the eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and doth make and substitute the following clause eight in lieu thereof.

REGULATION.

  1. No person shall use any bait or lure other than the natural or artificial fly, or natural or artificial minnow, and any small indigenous fish, insect, grasshopper, beetle, or spider. The use of shellfish, koura, or the houhou or matai grub, or of earth worms shall be a breach of the regulations:

Provided that no bait other than artificial fly shall be used for taking fish in that portion of the Puniu River above Kihikihi, or in that portion of the Waipa River for seven miles above and seven miles below the Township of Otorohanga.

The fine for every breach of this regulation shall not be less than 40s. or more than £50.

Boundaries of Borough of Gisborne altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of November, 1917.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area be excluded from the County of Cook and included in the Borough of Gisborne:

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations of the said area:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alterations of the boundaries of the said borough recommended by the said Commission:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Cook and included in the Borough of Gisborne.

SCHEDULE.

AREA INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF GISBORNE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Taruheru River where the western boundary of the Borough of Gisborne meets the said right bank; thence along the present western boundary of the said borough to its intersection with the northern boundary of Lot E of Matawhero B Block; thence along the said northern boundary of Lot E to the western boundary of the said Matawhero B Block; thence along the said western boundary to the Gisborne-Makaraka Railway line; thence across the said railway-line to and along the southern boundary of Lot 1, Matawhero B Block, to the boundary between the Gisborne Park Racecourse and the Elgen Township; thence along that boundary and its production to the right bank of the Taruheru River, and along the right bank of that river to the present boundary of the Borough of Gisborne, the place of commencement.

Hungahunga Drainage District extended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of November, 1917.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Piako, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in the said area be included in the Hungahunga Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the boundaries of the said Hungahunga Drainage District by including in such district the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE ADDED TO HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waitoa River, being the northernmost corner of Section 32, Block XVI, Waitoa Survey District; thence along the road forming the north-eastern boundary of that section and of Sections 33 and 34 and part of the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 34, and the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 36, Block XVI, aforesaid, and of Sections 7, 8, and 9, Rangiatea Estate, and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 9 to its southernmost corner; thence along the south-western boundaries of Sections 9, 8, and 7 aforesaid, and that line produced to and across a public road forming the north-western boundary of Section 36, Block XVI, aforesaid; thence along the watershed crossing Sections 34, 33, and 32 to the Waitoa River, and along the right bank of that river to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-west by a right line from the Waitoa River at its intersection by the northern boundary of Block XVI, Waitoa Survey District, to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Ngutumanga Block at right angles to that road; thence towards the north-east generally by the last-mentioned road and the north-eastern boundary of the Ngutumanga Block to the railway-line; thence across the railway-line and a road to Section No. 14, Block XVI, Waitoa Survey District; thence by the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the said Section No. 14 to its easternmost corner; thence across a road and by the road running southward to the Waitoa–Te Aroha Road; thence by that road in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 12 chains; thence by a right line through Waihekau No. 3 Block to a point on the road which forms the northern boundary of Orongomairoa Block midway between the Waiwhero and Piraunui Streams; thence by the last-mentioned road to the northernmost corner of Orongomairoa Block; thence by the north-eastern side of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Orongomairoa and Hungahunga No. 2 Blocks to the road intersecting Section No. 1, Block V, Wairere Survey District; thence again towards the north-west by the north-western side of the last-mentioned road intersecting the said Section No. 1 to the south-western corner of the north-western part of Section No. 2, Block VI, Wairere Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of the north-western parts of Sections Nos. 2 and 3, Block VI aforesaid, the south-eastern boundary of the north-western part of Section No. 6, Block II, Wairere Survey District, the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 7, the south-eastern boundary of the north-western part of Section No. 9, the crossing of a road, and the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 12, Block II aforesaid, to the Waihou River; thence again towards the north-east by the Waihou River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 4, Block X, Wairere Survey District; thence by a right line to the road at the northernmost corner of Section No. 27A, Block X, Wairere Survey District, and by the north-eastern side of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 27A, and towards the east generally by the eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 27 and 26, Block X aforesaid, and forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, and 19, Block XIV, Wairere Survey District, and forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 18, 17, and 16, Block III, Tapapa Survey District, and Sections Nos. 15 and 14, Block II, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the south-west by a line
