KAKEPUKU ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION FORMING SPECIAL ORDER FOR RAISING A LOAN UNDER PARAGRAPH (e) OF SECTION 16 OF THE LOCAL BODIES’ LOANS ACT, 1913.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Kakepuku Road District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said district the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital value of properties of ratepayers who did not so consent, the Kakepuku Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

“For the purpose of forming and metalling certain portions of the roads in the said district, the Kakepuku Road Board hereby authorized the raising of a loan of £2,500, at four and a half per centum per annum, for a period of thirty-six and a half years ; and declares that the cost of raising the said loan, and the first year’s interest and sinking fund on the loan, shall be payable out of the moneys so raised.”

As Chairman of the above Kakepuku Road Board, I certify that the above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Board held on the 15th day of September, 1917, and confirmed on the 13th day of October, 1917, and that public notice thereof was duly given in the Waipa Post on the 21st and 28th September and the 5th and 12th October, 1917.

PHARMACY BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to notice given by me dated the 27th day of September, 1917, the following candidates were duly nominated to fill vacancies (2) to occur upon the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand in respect of the Canterbury District on 1st January, 1918, and at the election held on the 26th day of October, 1917, the votes cast were as follows :—

Parnham, Ralph Reader .. .. .. 34
Barrett, William .. .. .. 25

And I hereby declare the said LEONARD BONNINGTON and RALPH READER PARNHAM duly elected to represent the District of Canterbury upon the said Board as from 1st January next.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS the Taumarunui Borough Council lately took steps to raise a loan of eight thousand four hundred and thirty-four pounds (£8,434), under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system to certain streets :

And whereas the special rate made as security for the said loan (namely, one and one-ninth of a penny in the pound) has been found insufficient, and it is expedient to amend the same :

Now, therefore, the Taumarunui Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on it by section twenty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of eight thousand four hundred and thirty-four pounds (£8,434), authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system, the said Taumarunui Borough Council hereby increases the special rate made as a security for the said loan (namely, one and one-ninth of a penny in the pound) to one and two-ninths of a penny (1d. and 2/9d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) of that portion of the Borough of Taumarunui comprising Blocks I to IX inclusive and Blocks XIII to XVII inclusive in the Native Township portion of the Borough of Taumarunui, Blocks I to V inclusive in Bell’s Extension, Sections 6 to 11 inclusive and Sections 15 and 16, Block IV, and the whole of Blocks VI and VII, in the Rangaroa Village Settlement, and the whole of what is known as Ngatai’s Extension ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Taumarunui Borough Council as passed at a meeting of the said Council at Taumarunui on the second day of October, 1917.

And whereas the special rate made as security for the said loan (namely, twenty-seven sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound) has been found insufficient, and it is expedient to amend the same :

Now, therefore, the Taumarunui Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on it by section twenty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby resolves as follows :—
