NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named company, having gone into voluntary liquidation, will cease to carry on business in New Zealand at the expiration of three calendar months from the date of this notice.

TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for completing the formation and for metalling a portion of Alexandra Street, the said Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Te Awamutu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council held on the fifth day of November, 1917.

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, and section 10 of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, I hereby give notice that the number of votes received by each candidate for the five vacancies of Trustees of the Hauraki Drainage Board is as follows:—

WESTPORT JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Westport Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situate at Westport, and known as the Westport Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the Westport Jockey Club Racecourse while the same is being used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
(a.) Bookmakers, bookmakers’ clerks, betting agents, and layers of starting-prices, and all persons who have been guilty of any malpractice or dishonourable conduct in connection with racing or betting, or have been warned off any racecourse by any racing club.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
- No person, as in the preceding section is mentioned, shall obtain the right to come and go upon the racecourse, or to remain thereon, by reason of his being a member of any racing or jockey club, or of his having paid any fee or obtained any ticket of admission, and his ejection from the course shall give him no right to a return of his fee or ticket.
The foregoing regulations were adopted at a duly constituted meeting of the Westport Jockey Club held at Westport on 6th August, 1917.

FOUR-IN-HAND MINES (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution has been passed, in manner directed by the Companies Act, 1908, by the Four-in-Hand Mines (Limited). The resolution was passed on the sixteenth day of October, 1917, and confirmed on the 31st day of October, 1917:—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that JOSEPH BERNARD SHEATH, of Auckland, Company Manager, be and is hereby appointed the Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

AT an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Maungaiti (Limited) held on the 31st day of October, 1917, an extraordinary resolution was passed as follows:—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that Maungaiti (Limited) cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the same be wound up accordingly; and that EDWIN MARTELL SILK, of Wanganui Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

KAKEPUKU ROAD BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kakepuku Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Kakepuku Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming and metalling certain portions of the roads in the Kakepuku Road District, the said Kakepuku Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kakepuku Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
As Chairman of the above Kakepuku Road Board I certify that the above resolution making a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound was duly passed at a meeting of the said Board on the 13th day of October, 1917, after the special order relating to such loan had been duly confirmed.
