Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Kawhia North Survey District, for Road Purposes 34/1625

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XI, Kawhia North Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Hauturu, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VII, Waipakura Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Te Tuhi, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Portion of Te Rimu Block, Block VII, Waipakura Survey District.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Te Awamutu, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

In pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Te Awamutu was taken on the 31st day of October, 1917, upon the proposal of the Te Awamutu Borough Council to raise a special loan of £5,000 for completing the formation and for metalling a portion of Alexandra Street.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 62, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated at Te Awamutu this 1st day of November, 1917.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman, General Post Office, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 23rd January, 1918, for the supply and delivery, C.I.F., Wellington, of the following material:—

3,000,000 lead seals.
700 extension bells.
25 pocket compasses.
100 post-office sounders.
2,500 metallic circuit plugs.
4,500 telephone cords.
3,500 metal diaphragms.
2,000 switchboard plugs.
10,000 reams manifold paper.
2,000 memo. books.
1,500,000 envelopes.

Particulars and conditions of tendering may be obtained at the office of the Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington; the District Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, Christchurch; or at the offices of the Telegraph Engineers at Auckland and Dunedin.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.—BASIL WOODD PERKIN, Esquire, of Sydney, New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in that state, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.
