Lands temporarily reserved.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland, Wellington, and Southland Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 109, Block V, Hukerenui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Section 104 in the aforesaid Block V, 416·7 and 120 links respectively; towards the south-east by Section 94 in Block V aforesaid, 416·7 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 120 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/175, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 17420.) For railway purposes.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, being Section 21A, Block V, Waitoa Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 21 in the said Block V, 1383·8 links; towards the east by the Maukoro Native Reserve, B Section 2, and B Section 1, 781·8 links; towards the south generally by Section 31 of the aforesaid Block V, Waitoa Survey District, 922·8, 567·7, 384·3, and 560·5 links; and towards the west generally by a public road, 178·4, 350·1, and 733·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/306, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plans 19222, 12813A.) For a public cemetery.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 2,045 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block XIII, Tararua Survey District. Bounded towards the east by Section 2, 6524·6 links, by the abutment of Kaiparoro Road, by the crossing of Makakahi River, by the abutment of a river-bank reserve, and by Section 1, 8953·5 links and 519·9 links, all in Block XIII aforesaid; again towards the east and towards the south and west generally by Crown land, by State forest reserve, and again by Crown land: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/134, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For water-supply purposes.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 25 acres 0 roods 11 perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block VIII, Longwood Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road along railway reserve, 1235·6 links; towards the east by Section 2, 1980·9 links; towards the south by coast reserve, 1199·8 links; and towards the west by Section 4, 2206 links; all in Block VIII aforesaid: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 7157/12, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For road and railway protection purposes.

Notifying Lands in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Saturday, the twelfth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.

TOWN LAND.

Wairoa County.—Town of Mahia.

Section 2: Area, 1 rood 16·8 perches; upset price, £7 10s.

Section 3: Area, 1 rood 28 perches; upset price, £8 10s.

Section 4: Area, 1 rood 39·2 perches; upset price, £10.

Section 28: Area, 2 roods; upset price, £17 10s.

Mahia Township is situated on the Mahia Peninsula, about thirty-five miles from Wairoa and fifty-one miles from Gisborne by road. It is also about four miles from Opoutama Post-office and store by beach road.

Wairoa County.—Town of Frasertown.

Section 157: Area, 1 acre; upset price, £30.

Section 158: Area, 1 acre; upset price, £35.

Frasertown is on the Wairoa River, about five miles from the Town of Wairoa.
