Declaring the Course of Portion of the Rangitikei River to be diverted.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section one hundred and eighty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, that where it is found desirable for the safety or proper maintenance of any public work to protect the banks of, or to alter or divert, either wholly or partially, and either temporarily or permanently, any river, stream, or watercourse, the Governor-General may by Proclamation publicly notified, declare that the banks of such river, stream, or watercourse shall be so protected, or its course so altered or diverted, and thereupon the protection of the banks or the alteration or diversion of such river, stream, or watercourse shall be a public work within the meaning of the said Act:
And whereas it has been found desirable for the safety and proper maintenance of portion of the Bull’s—Scott’s Ferry Road to divert the course of the Rangitikei River in, through, or over the land described in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William De Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and eighty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the course of the Rangitikei River in, through, or over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be so diverted as may be required for the protection and safety and proper maintenance of portion of the Bull’s—Scott’s Ferry Road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of land known as Hoki Street, in the Township of Carnarvon, situated in a bend of the Rangitikei River, Block V, Te Kawau Survey District. As the said piece of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42962 deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Waitemata County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Titirangi Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
