thousand five hundred and thirty pounds (£3,530), being part of the special loan of six thousand six hundred and eighty pounds (£6,680), authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purposes set out hereunder, the amount to be spent on each such purpose being set out opposite thereto,—

the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Te Kuiti.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Te Kuiti was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Te Kuiti Borough Council in the presence of—

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Cheviot Racing Club at a meeting held on the 11th day of August, 1917, at Cheviot, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. R. C. Wilson, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. R. C. Wilson, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. J. H. L. Hiatt seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—
CHEVIOT RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Cheviot Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Cheviot Racing Club’s property situate in the district of Cheviot, and known as the Cheviot Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Cheviot Racing Club were made and passed by the Cheviot Racing Club on the 11th day of August, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

CONLIN LAND COMPANY (LIMITED).
IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the CONLIN LAND COMPANY (LIMITED).
At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Wellington on the 24th day of October, 1917, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“Whereas it is proved to the satisfaction of the directors that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the same be wound up accordingly.”
At the same meeting A. S. Briss, of Wellington, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

Notice of intention to take lands for roads through part of Section 53 and Lot 29 of Section 53, Parish of Waikomiti, in Block VII, Survey District of Titirangi; through Section 187 (E.R.), Parish of Waikomiti, in Block III, Survey District of Titirangi; through Sections 15, 5, 5B, and 165, Parish of Waiwera, in Blocks XI and XII, Survey District of Waiwera; through Sections 42 and 43, Waari Hamlet, in Block II, Survey District of Titirangi; through Section 133, Parish of Waipareira, in Block XIII, Survey District of Waitemata; and through part of Waikoukou No. 2 Block, Ururua No. 2B Block, Ururua No. 2A Block, parts of Pukeatua Block, and Maramatawhana B Block, in Blocks VI and VII, Survey District of Kumeu.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, by the Waitemata County Council, to execute certain public works—to wit, construction of roads through part of Section 53 and Lot 29 of Section 53, Parish of Waikomiti, in Block VII, Survey District of Titirangi; through Section 187 (E.R.), Parish of Waikomiti, in Block III, Survey District of Titirangi; through Sections 15, 5, 5B, and 165, Parish of Waiwera, in Blocks XI and XII, Survey District of Waiwera; through Sections 42 and 43, Waari Hamlet, in Block II, Survey District of Titirangi; through Section 133, Parish of Waipareira, in Block XIII, Survey District of Waitemata; and through part of Waikoukou No. 2 Block, Ururua No. 2B Block, Ururua No. 2A Block, parts of Pukeatua Block, and Maramatawhana B Block, in Blocks VI and VII, Survey District of Kumeu. And for the purpose of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is further given that the plans of the said roads and of the lands as required to be taken are deposited for public inspection at the office of the Waitemata County Council, Empire Buildings, Swanson Street, Auckland.
And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of such public works or by the taking of such lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of such
