Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Richmond, the Stoke Road District, and the County of Waimea.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 1st November, 1917.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Richmond are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 6th day of August, 1917, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 127, of the 9th day of August, 1917.
And also, in pursuance of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Stoke Road District and the County of Waimea affected by the said Order in Council dated the 6th day of August, 1917, are hereby defined as set out respectively in the Second and Third Schedules hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 160, Block VI, Waimea Survey District; thence along the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 160, 162, 164, 166, and 168, across a road and along its north-eastern side to the southernmost corner of Section 213, and along the south-eastern boundary of that section produced to the sea; thence along the seashore to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 78, Block VII; thence to and along the north-eastern side of the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 78, 71, 72, and 94 to Section XIX; and thence along the north-western boundary of that section to its westernmost corner, across a road, and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 85, and that boundary produced to the road forming the south-western boundary of Section 32, along the north-eastern side of the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 32, 64, 32, and 31, Block VII aforesaid, and Sections 22, 21, and 108, Block VI aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of Section 160, to the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE STOKE ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Waimea County bounded by a line along the seashore from the mouth of the Waimea River to the City of Nelson, and along the southern boundary of that city to the northernmost corner of Section 18, Suburban South, along the north-eastern boundary of that section and its production to the boundary between the Waimea and Marlborough Counties, along that boundary to the southern boundary of Square 18; thence along a line running due west to its intersection by a right line bearing south 45° west from a point about two miles distant from the north-eastern corner of Section 18, Suburban South, and in line with the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 18; thence along a right line bearing south 45° west to the River Lee, along the right bank of that river and of the River Roding to and along the right bank of the Waimea River to the sea, the place of commencement: excluding the Borough of Richmond.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF WAIMEA.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north generally by the ocean from the northern head of Torrent Bay to a point on the shore of Croixelles Harbour due west of the westernmost point of Elaine Bay; thence along a right line to the said westernmost point of that bay and along its southern shore to its south head; thence along a right line to Trig. Station Y (boundary trig.); thence along the summit of the range over Mount McLaren, Editor Peak, Mount Dupa, and Saddle Hill to the source of the Heringa Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Pelorus River, by that river to its source near Red Hills; thence to and along the summit of the range over Red Hills, Mount Rintoul, and Bush Cone to the summit of Ward’s Pass, and along a right line to Trig. Station Top 2 (Mangatawai); thence along the summit of St. Arnaud Range to a point where the south-western watershed of the Motopiko and Rainy Rivers join the St. Arnaud Range; thence along the said watershed to its junction with the spur between Cow Creek and the Buller River, and along the summit of that spur to the confluence of the Hope and Buller Rivers; thence along a right line to Mount Owen, and along the summit of the range over Mount Luna, Mount Arthur, Crusader, and Mount Evans to a point due west of the northern head of Torrent Bay; and thence along a right line to the said northern head of Torrent Bay, the place of commencement: excluding the City of Nelson and the Boroughs of Richmond and Motueka.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Ashburton are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 13th day of August, 1917, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 129, of the 16th day of August, 1917.
And also, in pursuance of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Hampstead Town District affected by the said Order in Council dated the 13th day of August, 1917, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of roads at the westernmost corner of Rural Section 4906, along the south-western boundary of that section and its production to the south-eastern side of East Street, along the south-eastern side of that street to King Street, along the south-western side of King Street to Brucefield Avenue, along the north-western side of that avenue to and along the south-western side of Kitchener Street to Bridge Street, along the north-western side of Bridge Street to and across a road to the northernmost corner of Rural Section 4904, along the north-western boundary of that section, across a road, along the north-western boundary of Rural Section 4873 and that boundary produced to the left bank of the Ashburton River, along the left bank of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 4905; thence to and along the south-eastern boundary of that section and a right line to the westernmost corner of Rural Section 4906, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE HAMPSTEAD TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the Borough of Ashburton from the left bank of the Ashburton River to the Main Trunk Railway reserve, along the south-eastern side of that reserve and the western side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 1261, 1120, 14370, and 15470; the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 1547, 15999, 1415, 13705, 10350, and 1119; the north-eastern side of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 6855, 6149, and 6108 to Trevor’s Road; along the southern side of that road to the left bank of the Ashburton River, and along the left bank of that river to the Borough of Ashburton, the place of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District, Ohura, County of Ohura.

Wellington, 1st November, 1917.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Ohura. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said town district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
