CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Otago Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 24th October, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 10th December, 1917.

The land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for sixty-six years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of sixty-six years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 12th December, 1917, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CATLIN’S SURVEY DISTRICT.

SECTION 11, Block VII: Area, 194 acres 2 roods 20 perches; capital value, £100; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £5; half-yearly rent on lease, £2.

Situated about two miles and a half from Tawanui Railway-siding and school. There is formed-road access to within five or six chains of the south-east corner. There is permanent water on the section. The land is of very fair quality, and a fair proportion has an easterly aspect. The section is under heavy bush, comprising birch, kamai, rimu, and broad-leaf.

Pastoral Run in Marlborough Land District for License by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 29th October, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run will be offered for license by public auction at this office at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 19th December, 1917, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY.

Class A.

RUN No. 121: Area, 52,000 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £300.

Situated about twenty-five miles from the Kekerangu Post-office, having access by a pack-track, four miles of which is a formed dray-road. The altitude ranges from 1,000 ft. to 9,400 ft. About a third of the run is limestone hills carrying tussock, a third is mixed land which might be termed second and third class with small patches of scrub, and the balance is high barren country; there is some good agricultural land at the Bluff which has been cultivated. The run is capable of considerable improvement. Rabbits are rather numerous in parts. The improvements which go with the run consist of three cob whares with iron roofs, situated at the Bluff, plantations and orchard, sheep yards and dip, and about eleven miles and a half of fencing, valued at £1,050.

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 1,000 ft. Situated on main Blenheim to Nelson Road, about forty-eight miles from Blenheim and thirty miles from Nelson. Varies from undulating in front to rough and broken at back, generally poor. Timber comprised of birch, kahikatea, and rimu, at present being milled, the right to mill expiring on 31st December, 1917. Distant one mile and a half from school, dairy, and post-office. Right to follow millers and take advantage of their felling reserved to successful applicant.

Education Reserves in Taranaki Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the Borough Council Chambers, Hawera, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 5th December, 1917, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

The subdivisions consist of flat, grassed land adjacent to the Borough of Hawera. They are slightly over half a mile from the post-office and a quarter of a mile from the school. It is intended to form and gravel Wera Street. The Avenue and Manawapou Roads are existing roads. The subdivisions are all good building-lots; good soil, on volcanic formation.
