Extending Time for holding General Election of Councillors in the Awatere County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section sixty-five of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the general election of members of the various County Councils throughout the Dominion shall be held on the second Wednesday in November: And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election in the Awatere County:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section two hundred and seventeen of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the general election of Councillors for the County of Awatere; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid county the said general election shall be held and take place on Friday, the sixteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Extending Time for closing Polls, Makara County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, as amended by the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the hour at which all polls to be held and taken in the Makara County shall close to seven o’clock in the afternoon of the day appointed.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the twentieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, but only in so far as to prohibit all alienations of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.
