RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Auckland Trotting Club at a meeting held on the twenty-ninth day of August, 1917, at Auckland, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. S. C. Caulton, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. S. C. Caulton, the Chairman of the Club and of the Meeting, moved, “That it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.”

The motion was seconded by Mr. C. S. H. McKinney, and carried.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Auckland Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situate at Epsom and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Alexandra Park Racecourse, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “trotting club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Auckland Trotting Club were made and adopted by the said club at its meeting held on the twenty-ninth day of August, 1917, and signed by

The foregoing regulations of the Auckland Trotting Club are hereby approved this 4th day of October, 1917.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Huntly Road Board proposes to execute certain public works—to wit, a public road; for which purpose the following lands require to be taken by the said Huntly Road Board under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, sections 18 and 19, that is to say:—

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement one acre two roods and eleven perches (more or less), being part of Allotment Four Hundred and Sixty-three of the Parish of Taupiri.

A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the residence of Mr. R. W. G. Rutherford, on Allotment 186 of the Parish of Taupiri.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Huntly Road Board at Huntly within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice.

Dated at Huntly this sixteenth day of October, 1917.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikato County Council proposes to make certain public works—to wit, pits for digging and obtaining stone, gravel, and road material; for which purpose the following lands require to be taken by the said Waikato County Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, sections 18 and 19, that is to say:—

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement one acre two roods and twenty-three perches (more or less), being part of Allotment Four Hundred and Sixty-three of the Parish of Taupiri.

A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the residence of Mr. R. W. G. Rutherford, on Allotment 186 of the Parish of Taupiri.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Waikato County Council at Hamilton within forty days of the date of the first publication of this notice.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of Luxford Street of the City of Wellington; and for the purpose of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.
