APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 4 acres 1 rood 21 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Allotment 1, Lot 1 of Allotment 2, part Allotment 2, Allotments 16 and 17, Puniu Parish, Block VII, Puniu Survey District. (S.O. 18346.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42430, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

At the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of October, 1917.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor-General, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained :
And whereas the Inangahua County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the roads described in the Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Inangahua County Council stopping the roads described in the Schedule hereto.

Situated in Block XIV, Reef ton Survey District (Reefton Township).
In the Nelson Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42665, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of October, 1917.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council :
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the loans set out in column B therein: And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans herein-after mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto; provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes specified in the said Schedule; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
SCHEDULE.
CLIFTON County Council, £300: For forming and bridging the Mangaopapa Road.
Cook County Council, £500: For metalling a portion of the Hangaroa-Tahora Road.
Greytown Borough Council, £2,000: For constructing sanitary works.
Patea Borough Council, £1,000: For completing the water and drainage system.
Roglan County Council, £1,300: For forming and metalling roads in the Glen Massey Special-rating Area.
Rangitikei County Council, £600: For trimming and metalling a portion of the Tuho e Extension Road.
