MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 1ST DAY OF OCTOBER, 1917, AT 7.15 P.M.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred and seventy pounds (£570), authorized to be raised by the Mount Albert Borough Council, under section 18 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of the completion of the drainage-works at Morningside, Mountain View, and Gladstone Roads, as set out and described in the recommendation of the District Health Officer dated the 17th day of February, 1915 [being 10 per cent. additional on a special loan of five thousand seven hundred pounds (£5,700) authorized to be raised by a special order of the said Borough Council dated the 13th day of March, 1916, the said loan of five thousand seven hundred pounds (£5,700) having proved insufficient for the said purpose], the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby appropriates the special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Mount Albert made and levied by resolution passed on the 11th day of April, 1916, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 20th day of April, 1916, at page 1192. And the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Mount Albert Borough Council at the meeting above mentioned.

PATEA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Patea Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Patea, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying a special loan of £2,500 raised by the said Corporation for electric-light purposes, and which became due and payable on the first day of September, 1917, the said Corporation hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Patea; and that such special rate shall be annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
I, ARCHIBALD JOSEPH, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, N.Z. University 1917, now residing in Hamilton, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 3rd November next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Auckland.
