doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described
in the Schedule hereto to be a road district for the purposes
of the Road Boards Act, 1908, and to be called by the name
of the "Mangaorongo Road District"; and also, in further
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained
in the said section twenty-seven, doth hereby declare that the
Board of the said district shall consist of seven members.

SCHEDULE.

MANGAORONGO ROAD DISTRICT.

All that area in the West Taupo County bounded by a
line commencing at a point where the Mangaorongo Stream
is intersected by the south-western boundary of West Taupo
County; along that stream to and along part of the south-
eastern boundary of Rangitoto A No. 1 Block; along the
south-western boundaries of Rangitoto A 14A, A No. 14B 1,
and A No. 14B 2, and the south-eastern boundary of the said
A No. 14B 2, part of the south-western boundary of Rangitoto
A No. 2B 3, the southern boundaries of A No. 2B 3, A 52,
and A 55, the south-western boundaries of Rangitoto A No. 4
and A No. 5, and the southern boundary of the said Rangitoto
A No. 5 to the Mangatutu River; along that river to Rangi-
toto A No. 25B; along the northern boundary of that block,
of Crown land, and of Rangitoto A 24B, A 19, and a stream
to the western boundary of West Taupo County; and along
the said western boundary to the Mangaorongo Stream, the
place of commencement.

North-eastern Side of Portion of Beattie Street, in the Borough
of Feilding, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of
the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of
October, 1917.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it
is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply
in any case where the local authority having control of any
road or street by resolution declares that the provisions
thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or
any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved
by the Governor-General in Council:

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b)
of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works
Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval
may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with
respect to the building-line as the Governor-General by
Order in Council thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one
or both sides of the road or street:

And whereas the Feilding Borough Council, the local
authority having control of the portion of street described
in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as "the said
portion of street"), has passed the following resolutionβ€”
viz., "This Council resolves that the provisions of section
one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908,
shall not apply to that part of Beattie Street abutting on
Sections 385 and 386, Town of Feilding":

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution
should be approved in so far as it refers to the north-eastern
side of the said portion of street:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said
resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of Beattie Street, in the Borough of
Feilding, Land District of Wellington, abutting on Lots 4,
5, and 6 of Sections 385 and 386, Town of Feilding. As the
said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked P.W.D. 42744, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Land Dis-
trict of Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of Β£2,000
partly raised by the Borough of Invercargill.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of
October, 1917.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS on the fourth day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen, the Invercargill Borough
Council, in pursuance of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
and section twenty-seven of the Municipal Corporations
Amendment Act, 1910, caused a poll of ratepayers to be
taken upon a proposal to raise a special loan of two thou-
sand pounds for the purpose of providing funds for making
advances for sanitary drains and works to the owners of
premises within that part of the Borough of Invercargill
described in the proposal, at which poll the proposal was
carried:

And whereas doubt has arisen as to whether the voting-
paper contained all the particulars required by subsection
four of section ten of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by the defect (if any) in the said voting-paper:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one
hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the pro-
ceedings taken to raise the said loan in so far as the validity
of the proceedings may be affected by any defect in the said
voting-paper used at the poll; and doth hereby declare that
the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be
called into question by reason only of any defect in the
voting-paper as aforesaid.

Close Season for Imported and Native Game, Coromandel.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, and in compliance with written
application from the Coromandel Acclimatization Society, I,
Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that the season for taking or killing imported game and native
game shall be closed absolutely during the year 1918 in the
district comprised in the County of Coromandel and Gannet
Island, and that no imported game or native game of any
species shall be taken or killed in the said district during
such close season.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this fourth day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.

Warrant apportioning the Cost of Reconstruction of the
Helensville Swing-bridge, Helensville.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty of the
Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General
may, by Warrant under his hand publicly notified and
gazetted, direct that any bridge already constructed, or which
may hereafter be constructed, over or across any river or arm
of the sea respectively shall, from and after a date to be fixed
in such Warrant, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned in
that behalf in such Warrant; and may by such Warrant as
aforesaid fix or determine all or any, and if so what, part of
the cost, whether theretofore incurred or thereafter to be
incurred, of maintaining, repairing, improving, or recon-
structing any such bridge is to be provided and paid by the
local authority or local authorities; and may by such Warrant
as aforesaid direct, how, when, and to whom any such payment
is to be made:

And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made
under the hereinbefore-in-part-recited Act for the purposes
hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and autho-
