  1. The consent of the Attorney-General under these regulations shall be given only on the recommendation of a Stipendiary Magistrate, and every application for such consent shall be accompanied by the written recommendation of a Stipendiary Magistrate accordingly.

  2. “Soldier” means an officer, warrant officer, non-commissioned officer, or man of an Expeditionary Force under the Expeditionary Forces Act, 1915, who is in receipt of military pay as such, or who, though not in receipt of such pay, has not yet been a member of that force for two months.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this first day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

I, ARTHUR WILLIAM DE BRITO SAVILE, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, do hereby, in pursuance of the War Regulations Act, 1914, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, make the following additional regulations under that Act.


REGULATIONS.

PERMITS AND PASSPORTS.

  1. EVERY permit issued under the War Regulations made on the 15th day of November, 1915, shall upon the expiration, revocation, or other determination thereof be returned to the Minister or Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs.

  2. Any passport issued by the Governor-General may at any time be recalled by the Minister or Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs by notice in writing to the person to whom it was issued, and immediately upon the receipt of such notice the holder of any such passport shall forward or deliver the same to the Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs.

  3. These regulations shall be deemed part of and be read together with the War Regulations of the 10th day of November, 1914, and shall apply to all permits and passports issued since that date.
