Assistant Censor of Telegraphic Messages appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the authority conferred upon me by an Order in Council made on the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, in pursuance of section two of the Post and Telegraph Amendment Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize and appoint

GORDON RICHMOND, Esquire,

of Wellington, to act during my pleasure as a Censor of Telegraphic Messages in respect of the telegraph-stations at or near Wellington, and in such capacity to act as an assistant and under the control of the Censor, Walter Sanderson Curtis, Esquire.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Making Regulations under the Defence Act, 1909, as to Train and Steamer Accommodation for Officers travelling on Public Service.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the regulations shown in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare that such regulations shall come into force as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.

FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS FOR THE NEW ZEALAND MILITARY FORCES.

153A. THE following officers shall be entitled to deck berths on steamers and sleeping-berths on trains at the public expense:β€”
The Commandant.
The Assistant Military Secretary.
Heads of Departments, and Directors of the Headquarters Staff.
Officers Commanding Districts.

153B. Under special circumstances the Minister may grant an extension of the privilege conferred in the preceding regulation to an officer other than the above.

have, in pursuance of the provisions of section 7 of the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Act, 1913, been appointed Inspectors of Seamen for the ports of Auckland and Wellington respectively.
