TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Taranaki County Council proposes to open a gravel-pit upon part of Section 1, Block 5, Cape Survey District, and for such purpose requires to take all that piece or parcel of land in the County of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 29 perches, more or less, being part of the said Section 1, Block 5, Cape Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the main South Road for a distance of 121 links westerly from the west side of the Hangatahua Stream; towards the south-west by a straight line bearing 132° 51′ a distance of 1212·7 links, a straight line bearing 132° 16′ a distance of 502·2 links, and a straight line bearing 103° 13′ a distance of 290 links to the Hangatahua Stream; and towards the north-east generally by the western bank of the Hangatahua Stream.
A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is deposited for public inspection at Mr. J. S. Fox’s Store, Okato.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said work or to the taking of the said land, and to send such writing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Taranaki County Council at its office in Robe Street, in the Town of New Plymouth.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Taranaki County Council proposes to open a gravel-pit on part of Section 20, Block 5, Cape Survey District, and for such purpose requires to take all that piece or parcel of land in the County of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 20 perches (more or less), being part of the said Section 20, Block 5, Cape Survey District, bounded as follows:—
Commencing at the point where the north side of the South Road meets the western bank of the Hangatahua Stream, thence westerly along the north side of the South Road a distance of 366·6 links, thence north-easterly by a straight line bearing 22° 24′ a distance of 254·9 links, thence north-westerly by a straight line bearing 333° 20′, thence again north-westerly by a straight line bearing 283° 6′, thence again north-westerly by a straight line bearing 349° 5′ a distance of 91 links to the Hangatahua Stream, thence generally south-easterly to the point of commencement by the western bank of the Hangatahua Stream.
A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is deposited for public inspection at Mr. J. S. Fox’s Store, Okato.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Napier Park Racing Club at a meeting held on the third day of September, 1917, at Napier, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. J. Vigor Brown, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. J. Vigor Brown, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. Frank Moller seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—

NAPIER PARK RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Napier Park Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the club’s property situate in the District of Hawke’s Bay, and known as the Napier Park Racing Club’s Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
    (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
    (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
    The foregoing regulations of the Napier Park Racing Club were made and passed by the said club on the third day of September, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the ROYAL DRAMATIC AND COMEDY COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Wellington on the 24th day of August, 1917, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Wellington on the 11th day of September, 1917, the following resolution was duly confirmed :—
“That the company go into voluntary liquidation.”
And at such last-mentioned meeting A. S. Briss, of Wellington, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.
