WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waimarino County Council hereby resolves as follows :-- That, for the purpose of providing the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of two hundred and fifty pounds (Β£250), authorized to be raised by the Waimarino County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of deviating, felling, clearing, and forming into a dray-road Field's Track from the end of the present formation near the Tokiahuru Bridge to the Oruakukuru-Karioi Road, and felling, clearing, bridging, and forming the Oruakukuru-Karioi Road into a dray-road from its junction with Field's Track to the western boundary of Section 3, Block XIII, Karioi S.D., the said Waimarino County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Ohotu No. 6 Special-rating District, such special-rating district comprising Sections 6, 7, 8, Block IX, and Section 3, Block XIII, of the Karioi S.D.; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years (361), or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Ashburton Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 31st day of July, 1917, at Ashburton, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. H F. Nicoll, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. H. F. Nicoll, the Chairman of the Club and of the Meeting, moved, "That it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof."
The motion was seconded by Mr. D. McDonnell, and carried.
The following are the regulations above referred to :-
ASHBURTON TROTTING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Ash-burton Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the Act, and hereinafter referred to as "the said club," doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate at Ashburton, and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Ashburton Racecourse, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings :

  1. In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "trotting club," and "race meetings" shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
  2. The following persons shall be and hereby are excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings, namely :- (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
