Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 374
of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and seventy-four
of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred
to as “the said Act”), and by section fourteen of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that,
on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has
been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the
authority of the said Act, the Governor-General may issue
a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land:
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the
Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of
the Crown under the authority of the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and
seventy-four of the said Act, and by section fourteen of the
Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William de
Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set
out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
19 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being part of
Mangatainoka J 4f No. 2A Block, situated in Block II,
Mangaone Survey. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the main road, 1203·3 links and 618·3 links; towards
the north-east by other part of Mangatainoka Block aforesaid,
1330·1 links; towards the south-east generally by a river
bank reserve along the Makakahi River, 316·8 links, 825·4
links, and 508·3 links; and towards the south-west by Section
No. 32, Block II, Mangaone Survey District, 1145·2 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is
delineated on a plan deposited at the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of September, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Crown Land in Block III, Ohura Survey District, set apart
for the Purposes of a Road.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is Crown land, and is required to be set apart for
the purposes of a road in Block III, Ohura Survey District:
And whereas by section twenty-one of the Public Works
Act, 1908, it is enacted that whenever any Crown land is
required to be set apart for any public work the Governor-General may at any time by Proclamation set the same
apart for such public work, without complying with any of
the provisions of that Act in respect of the taking or setting
apart of other lands for such purpose:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the
purposes of the said road; and I also hereby declare that
this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day
of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land set apart: 14·4 perches.
Portion of Crown land (Taranaki R.D.), situated in Block III,
Ohura Survey District.
In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42925,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of

under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of September, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required
for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the
Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise
howsoever, for any public work is not required for such
public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in
Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to
be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of
any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government
work and not required for that purpose the Governor-General
may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without
complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid
section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be
Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon
the land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was taken for the purposes of a road: And whereas the
said road has been stopped, and it is desirable to declare
the land contained therein to be Crown land:
And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister
has recommended the Governor-General to declare such land
to be Crown land:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act,
1908, and that such land may be administered and disposed
of under that Act accordingly.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of stopped road declared to
be Crown land: 2 acres 1 rood 35 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 14 and 15, and
Ngaraa No. 1b 1 Block (Auckland R.D.), situated in Block
XVI, Piako Survey District. (S.O. 19728.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42929,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
bordered pink.
