Altering Boundaries of Hawke’s Bay, Wairoa, and Taupo East Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force: And whereas a resolution was passed by the Hawke’s Bay County Council on the thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day: And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Wairoa County Council on the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day, praying for an alteration of the boundaries of such counties by the exclusion from Wairoa County and the inclusion in Hawke’s Bay County of the area described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Hawke’s Bay County Council on the thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day, praying for the inclusion in Taupo East County of that part of Hawke’s Bay County described in the said resolution and in the Second Schedule hereto:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Wairoa County Council on the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day, praying for the inclusion in Taupo East County of that part of Wairoa County described in the said resolution and in the Third Schedule hereto:
And whereas the Counties Act is not in force in Taupo East County:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter the boundaries of the said counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and the said Schedules hereto:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Counties Amendment Act, 1913, as amended by the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the County of Wairoa, shall on and from the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, be added to and form part of Hawke’s Bay County, and that the area described in the Second Schedule hereto, being now part of Hawke’s Bay County, shall on and from the aforesaid date be added to and form part of Taupo East County, and that the area described in the Third Schedule hereto, being now part of Wairoa County, shall on and from the aforesaid date be added to and form part of Taupo East County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Taupo East, Wairoa, and Hawke’s Bay respectively shall on and from the said twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, be those set forth under their respective headings in the Fourth Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA ADDED TO HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.
ALL that area bounded towards the north-west generally by a line along the middle of the Mohaka River; towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of Run No. 6, in Block V, Waitara Survey District, and of Heru-a-Tyrea Block, to and along the middle of the Waikare River; to the sea; towards the south-east by the sea; and towards the south-west by the present north-eastern boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County to the Mohaka River, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
AREA ADDED TO TAUPO EAST COUNTY.
ALL that area bounded towards the north-east by the present south-western boundary of Wairoa County; towards the south by a line along the middle of the Mohaka River; and towards the south-west and north-west by the present eastern boundary of East Taupo County.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
AREA ADDED TO TAUPO EAST COUNTY.
ALL that area bounded towards the north-west by the present boundary of East Taupo County from the Napier-Taupo Road to the south-western corner of Whakatane County; thence towards north-east generally by a right line to a point on the Te Hoe River at the south-eastern corner of Heruiwi No. 4 Block, and along the middle of the said Te Hoe River to its confluence with the Mohaka River; towards the south-east by a line along the middle of that river; and towards the south-west by the present north-eastern boundary of Hawke’s Bay County.
