Now, therefore, I, Joseph George Ward, the Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of clause 3 of the War Regulations of the 17th day of December, 1914, made under the War Regulations Act, 1914, revoke the notices hereinbefore referred to.

Revoking Prohibition of Money-order and Postal Correspondence.
WHEREAS by notices dated the 8th day of June, 1915, the 6th day of August, 1915, the 9th day of February, 1916, the 10th day of February, 1916, the 18th day of February, 1916, the 4th day of August, 1916, the 31st day of August, 1916, and the 18th day of September, 1916, and published in the Gazette of the 10th day of June, 1915, the 12th day of August, 1915, the 10th day of February, 1916, the 17th day of February, 1916, the 24th day of February, 1916, the 10th day of August, 1916, the 7th day of September, 1916, and the 28th day of September, 1916, respectively, the Postmaster-General did order that no postal packet or telegram addressed to or intended for any of the persons, firms, or companies named in the Schedules thereto should be forwarded or delivered by the Post Office or transmitted by telegraph:
And whereas it is now considered advisable to remove the said restrictions with respect to the persons, firms, or companies whose names are set out in the said Schedules and in the Schedule hereto:

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VII, X, and XI, Maungamangero Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks VII, X, and XI, Maungamangero Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Piopio, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Articles prohibited to be imported to the United Kingdom.

IT is notified for general information that a Proclamation has been issued by the Imperial Government prohibiting the importation to the United Kingdom, except under license of the Board of Trade, of the undermentioned goods:—
All machinery driven by power and suitable for use in cutting, working, or operating on wood, including sawing machines of all descriptions, general joiners’ mortise, tenon, and boring machines, lathes and rounding machines, box and cask making machines and all machines accessory thereto, scraping and sandpapering machines, wheelwright machinery, firewood making and bundling machinery; wood-wool, wood-fibre, and wood-pulp machinery.
Saw sharpening and setting machines, saw stretchers and brazing apparatus.
All machines for grinding planing-irons or moulding-irons.
Electric motors up to one-half horse-power.
Bacon, hams, and lard other than lard from neutral countries. (See separate notice re control of these lines in the United Kingdom.)
This list supplements the list dated 9th July, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 12th July, 1917.

Cargoes of German Vessels in Brazilian Ports.

THE appended notification, which appeared in the London Gazette of 26th June, 1917, is republished for the information of any persons who may be concerned.

EXTRACT FROM London Gazette.
His Majesty’s Minister at Rio de Janeiro reports that for the purpose of obtaining the release of cargoes on board the German vessels which originally took shelter in Brazilian ports, the owners of such cargoes should forward the documents in support of their claims thereto to their representatives in Brazil, for presentation to the Inspector of Brazilian Customs. The documents must be authenticated by a Brazilian consular officer. It is added that cargo which may be cleared in transit for other countries is subject to payment of freight and transit dues.
Any further information on the subject which may be received from His Majesty’s Minister will be published in the London Gazette.
