Requisition by Imperial Government of New Zealand Wool and other Supplies.
IT is notified for general information that at the request of the British War Office it has been decided that “The Department of Imperial Government Supplies” shall be the controlling body in the Dominion of New Zealand under my direction for all matters connected with the requisitioning of wool and other supplies by the Imperial Government in which the War Office is concerned, and all communications relating thereto should be made to the Controller of that Department.
Communications should be addressed as follows: “The Controller, Department of Imperial Government Supplies, Box 374, General Post Office, Wellington.”

Notifying Land in the Taranaki Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Parkes Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 30th June, 1917.
SCHEDULE.
PARKES SETTLEMENT.
ALL that piece or parcel of land situated in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 397 acres 0 roods 33 perches, more or less, and being Sections 78, 117, 118, and 119, Block XI, Kaupokonui Survey District, and being bounded as follows: On the north by the Eltham Road, 1389 links; on the east by Section 79 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 3600 links; again on the north by Sections 79 and 112 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 2948 links; again on the east by the Palmer Road, 6882·3 links; on the south by Section 120 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 5429·8 links; on the west by Sections 113, 114, and 115 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 6297·3 links; again on the north by Section 77 (Kaponga Town District) of the aforesaid block and survey district, 786·2 links; again on the west by Section 77 (Kaponga Town District) of the aforesaid block and survey district, 3600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or a little less, and shown as edged pink. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. No. 4/15, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged with pink.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—Hobson County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made by the Hobson County Council on the 16th day of August, 1917, and sealed on the same day, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Hobson County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Elstow Drainage District, Counties of Ohinemuri and Piako.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Elstow Drainage District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed inclusion which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN ELSTOW DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waihou River in line with the north-western side of River Road; thence along the left bank of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XI, Aroha Survey District; thence to and along the south-eastern boundary of that section and along the north-eastern side of Stanley Road to the Cemetery Reserve, along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of that reserve to and along Stanley Road to a point distant fifteen chains from the southernmost corner of Section 8 aforesaid; thence along a right line to the eastern end of Racecourse Road at the south-eastern corner of Section 105, along the northern side of that road to O’Brien’s Road; thence along a right line to a point on Cribb’s Road at the south-western corner of Section 3; thence along a line parallel to the Thames-Waikato Road across Sections 92A and 92 to the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 92, along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Thomas King’s section of 14 acres, along the north-eastern boundary of that section to Taylor’s Road, along that road to Hall Road, along Hall Road to the Thames-Waikato Road, along that road and the south-eastern boundary of the Elstow Drainage District to the Borough of Te Aroha, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd May, 1917, page 1868, and along the southern boundary of that borough to the Waihou River, the place of commencement.

Notice convening a Meeting of Representatives of Fire-insurance Companies for the Purpose of considering Alterations in the Rules for the Election of Members of Fire Boards by Insurance Companies under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

IN accordance with Rule 16 of the rules for the election of members of Fire Boards by fire-insurance companies, and at the request of the Secretary of the Council of the Fire Underwriters’ Associations of New Zealand, I, George Warren Russell, being the Minister charged with the administration of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, do hereby convene a meeting of duly authorized representatives of fire-insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand, to be held in the office of the Council of the Fire Underwriters’ Associations of New Zealand, National Mutual Life Buildings, Customhouse Quay, Wellington, on Thursday, the 18th October, 1917, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of considering consequential alterations in the aforesaid rules for the election of members of Fire Boards by insurance companies under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VII, Otanake Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VII, Otanake Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Te Kuiti, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 10 acres 0 roods 20·7 perches.
