2nd Lieutenant Charles Cockburn Miles, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 31st August, 1917, and is absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from the 18th June, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 115, of the 12th July, 1917).
NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE (EARL OF LIVERPOOL’S OWN), TERRITORIAL.
Lieutenant John Spearman D’Hauteville Birkby, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 31st August, 1917, and is absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 1st October, 1915 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 115, of the 7th October, 1915).

Major William Tollie Joll, Queen Alexandra’s 2nd (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, is appointed an Attending Officer under the Military Service Act, with the rank and pay of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 5th June, 1917.
Major Donald Bruce McKenzie, 7th (Southland) Mounted Rifles, is appointed an Attending Officer under the Military Service Act. Dated 10th July, 1917.
Honorary Lieutenant Cecil Dare Bridge, Unattached List (b), is appointed an Attending Officer under the Military Service Act. Dated 10th July, 1917.
Lieutenant Murray Wodehouse Puiahi B’athwayt, Unattached List (b), is appointed an Attending Officer under the Military Service Act. Dated 1st August, 1917.
Lieutenant Leslie Fosbery Nancarrow, N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed a Dental Examining Officer to a District Medical Board, and is granted the rank of Honorary Captain (temp.) whilst so employed. Dated 27th August, 1917.
Lieutenant Aaron Henry Rothenberg, N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed a Dental Examining Officer to a District Medical Board, and is granted the rank of Honorary Captain (temp.) whilst so employed. Dated 1st September, 1917.
Honorary Captain David Everton Thomas relinquishes his appointment as Dental Examining Officer to a District Medical Board, and the honorary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 3rd September, 1917.
