Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a Quarantine Reserve in Waimea Survey District, Nelson Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for quarantine purposes, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 :

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the portion of the said reserve should be changed to a reserve for a rifle range :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change the purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from quarantine purposes to a reserve for a rifle range.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 48 acres, more or less, and being part of Section 34 of Square 1 in Block III, Waimea Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by high-water mark along the shore of Tasman Bay; towards the north-east generally by a road forming the north-west boundary of the Public Hospital Reserve (being part of Section 34), by the said reserve, and by a proposed road leading thereto through the said Section 34; towards the south-east by a road forming the north-west boundary of Section 86; and towards the south generally by high-water mark along the shore of an inlet from the estuary of the Waimea River. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red and bordered green.

Trustees for the Torere Public Cemetery appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

WILLIAM PRIME and
JOSEPH ARTHUR CASEY

to be trustees for the maintenance and care of the Torere Public Cemetery, in the places of Alfred Collard, deceased, and Alfred James Isdale, who has left the district, to act in conjunction with Robert Campbell, George James Allen, and Montague Goldsbury, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

National Provident Fund.—Additional Regulation under Part IX (Social Insurance) of the Finance Act, 1916.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by section seventy-seven of the Finance Act, 1916, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby make the following additional regulation for the purpose of Part IX (Social Insurance) of the said Act; and doth declare that the regulation hereby made shall form part of the regulations made under the said section seventy-seven on the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and shall come into operation on the thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

REGULATION.

  1. IN paying sums out of the Fund to approved societies a friendly society may authorize the Superintendent to pay such moneys into the society’s bank account in Form A.S. hereunder, to be signed by the trustees of the society.

We hereby authorize the manager of the [Name of bank] (whose signature appears in the margin) to receive all moneys payable out of the National Provident Fund to the , and to sign on our behalf receipts for same.

Appointing Public Trustee to be Administrator of an Estate under the Reformatory Institutions Act, 1909.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section thirty-seven of the Reformatory Institutions Act, 1009, it is enacted that when an order has been made against any person (whether before or after the commencement of that Act) for her detention in an institution, the Public Trustee may be appointed as the administrator or interim curator of her estate, in accordance with Part III of the Prisons Act, 1908, and all the provisions of sections fifty-five to seventy-five of that Act shall, so long as the order of detention remains in force, apply to that person accordingly in the same manner in which those provisions apply to persons imprisoned :

And whereas on the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, an order was made by the Stipendiary Magistrate at Christchurch for the detention of Ethel Maud Hampton, of Ashburton, in the certified Inebriates Home situate at Pakatoa Island :

And whereas it is expedient to appoint the Public Trustee as the administrator of the estate of the said Ethel Maud Hampton :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the before-mentioned powers and authorities, doth hereby appoint

THE PUBLIC TRUSTEE

to be the administrator of the estate of the said Ethel Maud Hampton during the Governor-General’s pleasure.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

JESSIE ELIZABETH MCLAREN ROBINSON,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Woodend, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
