NEW ZEALAND ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
Lieutenant Dick Radclyffe, No. 7 Company, is transferred to
the Unattached List (b), General List. Dated 9th February, 1915.
2nd Lieutenant Alexander William Nisbet, No. 7 Company,
is transferred to the Unattached List (b). Dated 22nd
July, 1915.
NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE (EARL OF LIVERPOOL’S OWN),
(TERRITORIAL).
2nd Lieutenant John McFarlane Eliffe, N.Z. Expeditionary
Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the
Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—
viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 1st April, 1916 (vide N.Z.
Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916); to date
from 31st July, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain John George Campbell, M.D., N.Z. Expeditionary
Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed with his
original rank and seniority—viz., Captain, as from 27th September, 1914 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 114, of the 29th October,
1914); to date from 20th July, 1917.
With reference to the notification in the N.Z. Gazette No. 71,
of the 19th April, 1917, relating to Captain Alexander
Wilson Hogg, M.B., add the words “and is granted the
pay of Lieutenant-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates
whilst so acting.”
NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend William Henry Roberts, Chaplain to the
Forces, 4th Class, is struck off the strength, and absorbed
with his original rank and seniority—viz., Chaplain to the
Forces, 4th Class, as from 12th February, 1912 (vide N.Z.
Gazette No. 19, of the 29th February, 1912); to date from
15th August, 1917.
The Reverend James Hutton Mackenzie, Chaplain to the
Forces, 1st Class, retires under the provisions of paragraphs 126 and 127, General Regulations, 1913, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform.
Dated 30th July, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
With reference to the notification in the N.Z. Gazette No. 17,
of the 1st February, 1917, relative to the appointment of
Major-General Sir Andrew Hamilton Russell, K.C.M.G.,
A.D.C., for the words “21st October, 1916,” read “27th
November, 1915.”
ERRATUM.
With reference to the notification in the N.Z. Gazette No. 91,
of the 31st May, 1917, relating to Lieutenant Dugald MacDonald Robertson, 1st (Canterbury) Regiment, for the
words “31st May, 1917,” read “31st December, 1916.”

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists’ Shops in the
Borough of Westport, under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops
in the Borough of Westport has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in
the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., and on Saturdays
at 10 p.m. :
And whereas the Westport Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops within the Borough
of Westport :
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 20th day of
August, 1917, all chemists’ shops within the Borough of Westport shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 15th day of July, 1915, is hereby
cancelled.

Constitution of a Special Roading District in terms of Section
50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913.
PURSUANT to section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, and the regulations thereunder, I
do hereby, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the
Wellington Land District, declare the lands referred to in
the Schedule hereto to be a special district for the purposes
of the said section; and such district shall be known as the
Te Waro Special Road District.

provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the

described in the Schedule hereto for forest-plantation purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of
the land so required to be taken is deposited in the postoffice at Whakarewarewa, and is there open for inspection;
and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land
should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
