HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, Staff, and Territorial Force.
APPOINTMENTS.
NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE TRAINING CAMPS.
Major (Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel) Herbert Reginald Ryder (late 3rd Battalion), The King’s Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry), is appointed Officer Commanding, Tauherenikau Camp, and is granted the temporary rank of Major in the N.Z. Military Forces whilst so acting. Dated 11th January, 1917.
2nd Lieutenant Harry Hector Doughty, New Zealand Field Artillery, A Battery, is appointed Field Artillery Instructor (on probation), Featherston Camp. Dated 30th July, 1917.
PROMOTIONS, RESIGNATIONS, ETC.
NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.
Lieutenant (temp. Major) Henry Peacock, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein —viz., Lieutenant, as from 1st April, 1913 (vide N.Z. Gazette of the 27th March, 1913), and retains the temporary rank of Captain whilst holding the appointment of Camp Commandant, Narrow Neck Camp ; to date from 1st July, 1915.
TEMPORARY STAFF.
Honorary Lieutenant Thomas Hoare resigns his commission. Dated 12th July, 1917.
3RD (AUCKLAND) MOUNTED RIFLES.
With reference to the notification in the N.Z. Gazette No. 78, of the 3rd May, 1917, relating to 2nd Lieutenant (temp.) Victor Blanc, for the words “2nd Lieutenant” read “Lieutenant.”
