Kaitieke Survey District, to the north-east corner of such Section 2 ; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 3, Block XVI, Kaitieke Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 3, Block XII, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 3, 4, 1, and 6, Block XII, Kaitieke Survey District, to the western boundary of the Waimarino-Taumarunui Road ; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of the said road to the North Island Main Trunk Railway line ; thence by a right line across the said railway-line and the said road to a point on the northern boundary of the Waimarino Military Reserve intersected by the western boundary-line of the Tongariro Survey District ; thence in a southerly and easterly direction by such boundary-line to the Kaitieke County boundary ; thence in a south-westerly direction along such boundary to the Paretetaitonga Trig. Station ; thence generally in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the Kaitieke County to the commencing point.

  1. Raurimu Riding.

Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 8, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District, and running in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of Sections 8, 7, 9, and 6, said Block XIV, to the north-western corner of said Section 6 ; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of said Section 6 to the Retaruke River ; thence in a northerly direction along the said river to the boundary-line between Section 1, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District, and Section 43, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in an easterly direction along the said boundary-line to the western boundaries of the Retaruke Valley Road ; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of such road to the southern boundary of Section 41, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in a westerly direction along such boundary to the Retaruke River ; thence in a northerly direction along such river to the southernmost boundary of Section 2, Block IX, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in an easterly direction along such southernmost boundary produced to the middle of the Retaruke Valley Road ; thence in a northerly direction by a line along the middle of the said road to a point produced from the northern boundary of Section 39, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in an easterly and southerly direction along the northern and eastern boundaries of such Section 39 to the north-western corner of Section 40, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in an easterly and southerly direction along the northern and eastern boundaries of such Section 40 to a point on the western boundary of the Mangahoe Road produced from the south-eastern boundary of Section 38, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of such section produced to the northern boundary of the Kaitieke Road ; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of such road to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block X, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in a northerly and westerly direction along the boundary of such Section 1 to the south-western corner of Section 2, Block VII, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of such section produced to the middle of the Patua Road ; thence in a north-easterly direction by a line along the middle of such road to the boundary of the Owhango Riding hereinbefore described ; thence generally in a south-easterly direction by the boundary of such riding to the Tongariro Trig. Station ; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the Kaitieke County to the north-eastern corner of the Manganui Riding, hereinbefore described ; and thence generally in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of such riding to the commencing point.

  1. Oio Riding.

Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District, and running generally in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the Retaruke Riding, hereinbefore described, to its junction with the Kirikau Riding, hereinbefore described ; thence generally in an easterly and southerly direction along the boundaries of the said Kirikau Riding and the Owhango Riding respectively, hereinbefore described, to the junction of the said Owango Riding with the Raurimu Riding, hereinbefore described ; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the boundary of the said Raurimu Riding to its junction with the Manganui Riding, hereinbefore described ; and thence generally in a westerly direction along the boundary of the said Manganui Riding to the Kaitieke–Waimarino County boundary, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 57, of the 31st March, 1917 ; thence in a westerly direction by the said boundary to the commencing point.

First Meeting of the Waihi Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby appoint the Waihi Borough Council Chambers, Waihi, at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 21st August, 1917, to be the place and date for holding the first meeting of the Waihi Fire Board.

Notifying Land in the Canterbury Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Craigmore Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 30th March, 1917.

SCHEDULE.

CRAIGMORE SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,105 acres 0 roods 33 perches, more or less, comprised in parts of certificates of title Nos. 246/33, 265/239, and 290/16, situated in Blocks I and V of the Otaio Survey District, and bounded as follows : Towards the north-west and north-east generally by Pratt’s Road, again towards the north-west by a public road ; thence towards the north-east generally by part of Rural Sections Nos. 18878, 21935, and 21645 ; towards the south-east and north-east generally by part of Rural Section No. 24599 and a public road ; again towards the south-east generally by part of Rural Sections Nos. 24599, 21930, 24608, 21931, 19074, 25300, 24739, 24936, and 24740 to a public road ; thence towards the south-west generally by that road to its junction with another road ; thence generally towards the north-west, south-east, and again towards the north-west by a public road ; thence towards the south-west by part of Rural Sections Nos. 24613, 21712, and 19524. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. No. 21/43, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
