Special Order made by the Kaitieke County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Kaitieke County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers, provisions, and authorities contained and conferred by the Counties Act, 1908, and any amendment thereof, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves by way of special order that, in order to make the representation of the different ridings as far as possible proportionate to the rateable value and number of electors in each riding respectively, the ridings and the boundaries thereof as at present constituted shall be adjusted and altered as set forth in the Schedule hereunder, and as more particularly shown on the plan deposited in the office of the Kaitieke County Council; and that the representation of each of the newly defined ridings should be one Councillor; and that the alteration hereby made should take effect as from and after the 30th day of June, 1917.
SCHEDULE.
- Hunua Riding.
Commencing at a point being the junction of the western corner of Section F, Block III, Hunua Survey District, with the Wanganui River, and following the said river in the direction of its source to the western mouth of the Whakapapa River; thence by the said Whakapapa River to the southern corner of Section 28, Block VI, Hunua Survey District; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section 25, said Block VI; thence by the southern lines of Blocks VI and V, Hunua Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 23, Block IX, Hunua Survey District; thence by the western boundary of said Section 23 to its intersection with Section 1, said Block IX; thence in an easterly direction by the southern boundaries of Sections 23 and 22, said Block IX, to the north-eastern corner of said Section 1 (and thus crossing the Hikimutu-Owhango Road); thence generally in a southerly direction by the eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 4, said Block IX, to the southern boundary of the Hunua Survey District; thence in a westerly direction by the southern boundary-line of the Hunua Survey District to Wall Trig. Station; thence by the eastern boundary of Block VIII, Hunua Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 7, said Block VIII; thence by the southern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, and 5, said Block VIII, and Sections E and F, Block III, Hunua Survey District, to the commencing point: excluding the Manunui Town District.
- Owhango Riding.
Commencing at a point being the western mouth of the Whakapapa River at its confluence with the Wanganui River, and following the boundary of the Kaitieke County generally in a south-easterly direction to Tongariro Trig. Station; thence by a right line to Okupata Trig. Station; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Tarewa No. 2B; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Waimarino E Native Reserve; thence by the northern boundary of that reserve to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block VIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence by the western boundary of such Section 1 and Section 1, Block IV, and Sections 18, 17, and 19, Block III, Kaitieke Survey District; thence generally by the southern boundaries of Sections 20, 11, 10, and 9, Block III, and Sections 5, 6, and 4, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District, produced to the middle of the Ohuha Stream Road; thence in a northerly direction by a line along the middle of such road to a point produced from the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District; thence generally in a north-easterly direction by the south-eastern boundaries of said Section 1, and Section 2, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District, to the eastern corner of such Section 2; thence towards the east and north generally by the boundary of the Hunua Riding, hereinbefore described, to the commencing point.
- Kirikau Riding.
Commencing at the confluence of the Waipahihi Stream with the Wanganui River, and following the Wanganui River in the direction of its source to the western corner of Section F, Block III, Hunua Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of the Hunua Riding, hereinbefore described, to the eastern corner of Section 2, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction along part of the western boundary of the Owhango Riding, hereinbefore described, to a point in the middle of the Ohuha Stream Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along the middle of such road to a point produced from the northern boundary of Section 7, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District; thence generally in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of such Section 7, and Sections 6 and 1, Block I, Keitieke Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the north-western boundary of such Section 2 produced to the middle of the Kokakoriki Road; thence in a southerly direction along the middle of such road and the Te Rata Road to the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XI, Retaruke Survey District, produced to the middle of the said Te Rata Road; thence along the north-western boundary of such Section 1 to its north-western corner; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block VII, Retaruke Survey District, to the Waipahihi Stream; thence in a south-westerly direction by such stream to the commencing point.
- Retaruke Riding.
Commencing at a point on the Wanganui River being the point where the Waimarino and Kaitieke Counties meet such river, and following such river in the direction of its source to the mouth of the Waipahihi Stream, being the boundary of the Kirikau Riding; thence in a north-easterly direction by the south-eastern boundary of the Kirikau Riding, hereinbefore described, to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District; thence in a southerly direction by the eastern boundary of said Section 2 to the north-western corner of Section 3, Block V, Kaitieke Survey District; thence by the northern and eastern boundaries of such Section 3 to the northern boundary of the Mokakoriki Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along the northern boundaries of such road and the Retaruke Valley Road to a point on the northern boundary of the said Retaruke Valley Road produced from the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Kaitieke Survey District; thence in a southerly direction by the eastern boundaries of Sections 1, 7, 11, and 10, Block IX, Kaitieke Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of such Section 10; thence along the southern boundaries of such Section 10, and Section 8, Block IX, Kaitieke Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 2, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence in a southerly direction by the western boundaries of such Section 2 and Sections 3 and 4, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District, to a point opposite the junction of the Maungaroa Road with the boundary of the Kaitieke and Waimarino Counties as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 57, of the 31st March, 1917; thence by a right line in a westerly direction across the Maungaroa Road to the said boundary, and by that boundary to the point of commencement.
- Manganui Riding.
Commencing at a point on the Waimarino and Kaitieke County boundaries being the north-western corner of Section 3, Block II, Manganui Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundaries of Section 8, Block XIII, and Section 8, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District, to the western boundary of the Retaruke Valley Road; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of the said road to a point produced from the southern boundary of the part of Section 7, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District, which lies to the eastern side of the said road; thence along such southern boundary to the Retaruke River; thence in a northerly direction along the said river to the northern boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, Kaitieke Survey District; thence generally in an easterly direction along the northern boundaries of said Section 4, and Sections 2 and 5, Block XV, and Section 2, Block XVI,
