Revoking Order in Council licensing Frank Rattenbury to
use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore of Tongaporutu
River, Taranaki, as a Site for a Wharf.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day
of July, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the second day
of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59, of the six-
teenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten,
Frank Rattenbury (hereinafter called “the licensee”) was
licensed to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land
below low-water mark of Tongaporutu River, Taranaki,
for the purpose of erecting a wharf:
And whereas the licensee has failed to comply with the
conditions contained in paragraphs two and four of clause
thirteen in the First Schedule of the Order in Council of
the second day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and nine, and it is desirable that the Order in Council should
be revoked:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and
authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908,
and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that
behalf, and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the herein-
before-recited Order in Council of the second day of Decem-
ber, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Vesting the Control of a Travelling-stock Reserve in the Opotiki
County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of
August, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been permanently reserved by a Warrant pub-
lished in the Gazette of the twenty-second day of February,
one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, as a resting-place
for travelling stock: And whereas it is expedient that the
control of the said reserve should be vested in the Opotiki
County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him
by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amend-
ment Act, 1914, doth hereby vest the control of the said
reserve in the Opotiki County Council, subject, however, to
the following conditions:—
(1.) The said reserve shall at all times be available for the
accommodation of travelling stock.
(2.) The said Council shall, within a period of eighteen
months from the date hereof, clear, grass, and fence the said
reserve for the purpose of providing grazing and accommoda-
tion for travelling stock.
(3.) The charges for grazing and paddocking stock shall
not exceed two shillings per hundred head for sheep and
twopence per head for cattle.
(4.) Provision shall be made for keeping different flocks of
sheep and herds of cattle separate as far as possible.
(5.) Except under stress of weather or in cases where roads
are temporarily impassable, no stock which has been accom-
modated in the reserve for one night and one day shall be
permitted to remain therein for any longer period if other
stock requires accommodation which could not otherwise be
provided except by the removal of the stock already in the
reserve.
(6.) Except for the purpose of consuming feed running to
waste and keeping the pasture in good order, no stock other
than travelling stock, and one horse as may be required
for the use of any caretaker appointed by the said Council,
shall be permitted to graze within the boundaries of the said
reserve.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 6·6 perches, more or less,
being Section 13, Town of Motu Extension No. 1. Bounded
towards the north-west by Section 12, said Town of Motu
Extension No. 1, 315·99 links; towards the north-east by
Section 11, said Town of Motu Extension No. 1, 129·47 links;
towards the south-east by a public road, 235·56 and 454·46
links respectively; and towards the south-west by the Opo-
tiki Road, 456·92 and 226·98 links respectively: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/1084, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellin-
ton, and thereon bordered green.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby appoint
CHARLES TOPHAM,
DAVID BALLINTYNE,
FREDERICK BOWDEN, and
THOMAS PARKER
to be trustees for the maintenance and care of the Miller’s
Flat Public Cemetery, in the places of David Armstrong,
deceased, and David Haugh, David McLean, and William
Sangster, who have left the district, to act in conjunction
with Alfred Edwin Maitland, Ezekiel Johns, and Louis
William Kerr, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this sixth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.

vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint
JOHN EDWARD O’CONNELL and
JOHN HENRY FORBES
to be trustees for the maintenance and care of the Glenorchy
Public Cemetery, in the places of Peter McKenzie and
Andrew Fraser, resigned, to act in conjunction with Henry
Birley, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this sixth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.

Improving, or Reconstructing the Coalgate—Lake Coleridge
and Peak Hill Roads, in the Selwyn County.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nine of the
Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the
said Act”), it is provided that in any case where a road
in one district is largely used by or for the purpose of traffic
to or from any other district or districts, and affords access
to or from such districts, and the Governor-General is of opinion
that it is equitable that the latter district of districts should
contribute towards the cost of constructing or maintaining
the whole or any portion of such road in the former district,
the Governor-General may from time to time apportion the
cost of constructing or maintaining the whole or any portion
of such road among the local authorities of the respective
districts as he thinks fit; and for that purpose, and to enable
effect to be given thereto, the provisions of section one hun-
