Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Office.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the said Schedule; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
SCHEDULE.
Te Awamutu Borough Council, £5,000; For completing the formation of and for metalling a portion of Alexandra Street.
Kaitieke County Council, £500: For forming and widening a road within the Waimarino-Retaruke Special-rating Area.
Franklin County Council, £1,500: For forming and metalling certain roads within the Hunua (1917) Special-rating Area.
Franklin County Council, £375: For providing the Council’s share of the cost of constructing the Hingaia and Whangamai re bridges.
Franklin County Council, £350: For forming and metalling the Maioro Top Road Deviation.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block XV, Omapere Survey District, to be a Government Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a Government road.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government roads.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Moana Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of such domain:
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the Moana domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

EMIL ANTEN NYBERG,
CHARLES ADLER,
NOEL PEAT,
GEORGE ROBERT HUDD,
JOHN KLEMPER,
ERNEST WILLIAM PENNHALLURIACK, and

to be the Moana Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, at half past seven o’clock p.m. as the time when, and the Schoolhouse at Moana as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
