THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations relating to trade-marks made under the said Act on the twenty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and published in the Gazette of the eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve (hereinafter referred to as “the said regulations”), in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that this Order shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
THE following regulation is hereby inserted after clause 62 of the said regulations:—
62A. (1.) Where a trade-mark has been registered in respect of goods included in more than one of the classes of goods described in the Third Schedule to the said regulations there shall be payable for the renewal of the registration of that trade-mark a separate fee of £1 in respect of each kind of goods to which that trade-mark relates which is included in a separate class in the said Third Schedule.
(2.) All references in the said regulations to a fee for the renewal of the registration of a trade-mark shall be read subject to this regulation.

Appointment of Representatives for Contributory Local Authorities on Kaipara Hospital Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council made under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, on the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-second day of March instant, an appointment was made in regard to the representation of contributory districts on Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards: And whereas by such appointment the number of representatives for Otamatea County was reduced from three to two, and it was directed that one of the said representatives of Otamatea County should retire from the Board, and the number of representatives of Dargaville Borough was raised from one to two: And whereas it is desirable that the number of representatives of Otamatea County be restored to three, and that the number of representatives of the Dargaville Borough be reduced from two to one:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby determine that the number of representatives on the Kaipara Hospital and Charitable Aid Board of the contributory district of Otamatea County shall be three, and the number of representatives of the Dargaville Borough shall be one; and the said Order in Council is hereby amended in so far as it conflicts with the appointment hereby made, and it is further determined that the two representatives of Dargaville Borough shall agree between themselves which of them shall retire from the Board, and, failing such agreement, the matter shall be determined by lot in such manner as the Board thinks fit.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor praying that part of the County of Waimea should be excluded from the said county and included in the Borough of Richmond:
And whereas a commission appointed under the said section held an inquiry, and reported that the area described in the Schedule hereto should be included in the Borough of Richmond:
And whereas it is expedient that the said area should be included in the said Borough of Richmond:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be included in the Borough of Richmond.

SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, situated in Block VII, Waimea Survey District, bounded towards the north-west and north-east by the present boundary of the Borough of Richmond from the southernmost corner of Section 32 to the southernmost corner of Section 88; thence towards the south-east by a line across a road and the south-eastern boundary of the eastern part of Section 85, and that boundary produced to the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 32 and 64; and towards the south-west by the north-eastern side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 32, the place of commencement.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the loans set out in column B therein: And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto; provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
