Station 1094; thence in a south-westerly direction by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Karioi No. 1·3305; thence in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Block Karioi No. 1 3305, Block 3305D, and Whakatete No. 3 Block to the Firth of Thames; and thence in a northerly direction along the aforesaid Firth of Thames to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Thames County Council as passed at a meeting of the said Council at Thames on the third day of April, 1917.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.

EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON THE 3RD DAY OF APRIL, 1917.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Thames County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds (£500), authorized to be raised by the Thames County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making improvements to the Matatoki Road South Drain, the said Thames County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Matatoki Road South Drain Special-rating District, comprising all that parcel of land bounded as follows,—

Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Lot 8, Wainui, Marshall’s Farm, on the south-western boundary of the Thames to Paeroa Railway Reserve; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-east boundaries of the aforesaid Lot 8 and Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12, all of Marshall’s Farm, to the intersection with Okewa Block 5416; thence generally along the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Okewa Block to the centre-line of a branch of the Puriri Stream; thence along the centre-line of the aforesaid branch of the Puriri Stream and the Puriri Stream to a point in line with the right bank of the Waihou River; and thence in a westerly and northerly direction along the right bank of the aforesaid Waihou River to the intersection with the north-western boundary of Te Kopua No. 2A; thence in a north-east direction generally speaking along the north-western boundaries of the aforesaid Section Te Kopua No. 2A, and Lots 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, and 20, all of Marshall’s Farm, to the south-western boundary of the Matatoki Railway-station; and thence along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Matatoki Railway-station and Thames to Paeroa Railway Reserve to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

OHAI RAILWAY DISTRICT.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Ohai Railway Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £30,000, authorized to be raised by the Ohai Railway Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of (a) acquiring the railway freehold and leasehold lands, chattels, and rights of the Wairoa Railway and Coal Company (Limited), and paying costs and expenses incurred by the Board in connection with the claim for compensation by the said company against the Board; (b) extending the said railway for one mile and a quarter, and providing road access to such extension, and for additional equipment in connection with the said railway and extension; (c) paying the costs and expenses mentioned in subsection (13) of section 78 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1916, the said Board hereby makes and levies, on a graduated scale according to a classification of land within the said district made pursuant to section 43 of the Local Railways Act, 1914, a special rate of seven shillings and threepence in the pound upon the rateable value of lands in Class A (that is, lands receiving or likely to receive immediate and direct benefit from the said railway), twopence three farthings in the pound upon the rateable value of all lands in Class B (that is, lands receiving or likely to receive less direct benefit from the said railway), and thirteen-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all lands in Class C (that is, lands receiving or likely to receive only an indirect benefit from the said railway). And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed at a meeting of the Ohai Railway Board held at Invercargill on the 18th day of July, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between NORMAN LORENZO DICKIE and STANLEY ALEXANDER DICKIE, carrying on business at Wairoa and Marumaru, near Wairoa, as Farmers and Carriers, under the style or firm of “S.
