The notification published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 52, of
the 22nd March, 1917, relating to Major Peter Jenkins
Wain, is cancelled, and the following substituted: Major
Peter Jenkins Wain performed the duties of Musketry
Instructor (temp.) for the Canterbury Military District
from the 14th March, 1917, to the 1st June, 1917, and is
confirmed in the appointment as from 1st June, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant John Falla Davie resigns his commission.

Lieutenant Angus Gordon Macdonald is appointed Assistant
Director of Supplies and Transport, Canterbury Military
District. Dated 21st June, 1917.

Captain Vivian Palmer Haughton, N.Z. Expeditionary Force,
is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establish-
ment with his original rank and seniority therein-viz.,
Lieutenant, as from the 26th September, 1914 (vide N.Z.
Gazette No. 30, of the 25th February, 1915); to date from
12th July, 1917.
Lieutenant George Finlay is granted the temporary rank of
Captain whilst employed as Ship's Quartermaster. Dated
1st July, 1917.

Major Frederick Waite, D.S.O., is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, and retains his appointment as Chief Engineer
