THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Eastern Special-rating Area, the said Petone Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Petone Eastern Special-rating Area as set out and defined by a resolution of the Council passed on the 14th day of December, 1914, and as shown on the duly authenticated roll of the aforesaid area; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven (7) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Petone Borough Council on the 2nd day of July, 1917.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTERSHIP.

BYGUM AND LOCKHART.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, carrying on business at Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, as Land and Commission Agents, under the style or firm of “Bygum & Lockhart,” was on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, dissolved by mutual consent. All debts owing to the late firm may be paid to either of the undersigned.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 28th day of May, 1917, at Greytown, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. C. J. Beard, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. C. J. Beard, the Chairman of the Club and of the meeting, moved, “That it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.”

The motion was seconded by Mr. A. McPhee, and carried.

The following are the regulations above referred to:—

SOUTH WAIRARAPA TROTTING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the South Wairarapa Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act (and hereafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate at Moroa, Greytown, and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the South Wairarapa Trotting Club Racecourse, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “trotting club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and hereby are excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for racing purposes, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club were made and adopted by the said club at its meeting held on the 28th day of May, 1917, and signed by

The foregoing regulations of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club are hereby approved this 3rd day of July, 1917.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Westland Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 17th day of November, 1916, at Hokitika, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Sellers, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. Sellers, the Chairman of the Club and of the meeting, moved, “That it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.”

The motion was seconded by Mr. Thompson, and carried.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

WESTLAND TROTTING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

CROMWELL AND BANNOCKBURN COLLIERIES COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN LIQUIDATION.

A MEETING of shareholders in the above-named company will be held at my office, 71 Bond Street, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 31st July, 1917, at 4 p.m., when the following resolutions will be submitted:—

  1. “That the accounts presented to this meeting by the Liquidator, showing the manner in which the Liquidation has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, be received and adopted.”

  2. “That the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof be retained by the Liquidator for a period of three months from date, and then destroyed.”
