AT a special meeting of the shareholders of the above
company duly convened and held at the registered
office of the company at 32 Shortland Street, in the City of
Auckland, on the fourteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen, the following special resolution
was passed, and confirmed at a further special meeting duly
convened and held at the office aforesaid on the fourth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR A
ROAD.

PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Tauranga County
Council proposes to take the pieces of land mentioned
in the Schedule hereto, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Act, for the purposes of a road; and also that a
plan showing the lands required to be taken is deposited at
the office of the Tauranga County Council, Spring Street,
Tauranga, and is open for public inspection during office
hours; and also that all persons affected by the taking of
the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection
to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the 29th day
of June, 1917, being the date of the first publication of this
notice, to the office of the Tauranga County Council addressed
to the undersigned.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of each of the parcels of land required to
be taken: 1 acre 0 roods 35 perches and 2 acres 1 rood
4 perches.

Being portions of Pukaingataru B No. 4, Block III, and
Pukaingataru B No. 5b, Block III, Maketu Survey District.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of
seven thousand five hundred pounds (£7,500), authorized to
be raised by the Whakatane County Council, under the
above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes:—

(a.) £360 of such loan for the purpose of widening and
improving length of Waimana Gorge Road in Oma-
taroa Riding;

(b.) £150 of such loan for the purpose of widening and
improving from junction of River Road and de-
viat ion to Addison’s;

(c.) £150 of such loan for the purpose of widening and
improving road from Mr. Robert Black’s to county
boundary (Nukuhou);

(d.) £1,485 of such loan for the purpose of metalling from
north end of Waimana Gorge to county boundary
at Nukuhou;

(e.) £750 of such loan for liability to Opotiki County on
Boundary Road (Nukuhou);

(f.) £825 of such loan for the purpose of metalling Matata
Outlet Road;

(g.) £1,500 of such loan for the purpose of a bridge and
approaches across the Outlet Cut;

(h.) £100 of such loan for the purpose of forming and im-
proving road from present formation down ridge to
Rangitaiki River near lagoon;

(i.) £960 of such loan for the purpose of a bridge and
approaches across the old bed of Rangitaiki River;

(j.) £480 of such loan for the purpose of forming and im-
proving road from Rangitaiki River to Tarawera
River; and

(k.) £240 of such loan for the purpose of forming and im-
proving road from Tarawera River to Matata—

the said Whakatane County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-ninth of a penny in the pound sterling
on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of
all rateable property in the County of Whakatane; and
that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution
duly passed at a meeting of the Whakatane County Council
held on the 16th day of June, 1917.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the
Taumarunui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of providing the Council’s share of the
estimated cost of the erection of a bridge across the Wanganui
River at a site at or near to the junction of Morero Terrace
with the Wanganui River, the said Taumarunui Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth
of a penny in the pound on the unimproved value of all
rateable property in the Borough of Taumarunui; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the
first day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-
half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby declare that the above resolution is a true and
correct copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the
Taumarunui Borough Council on 5th June, 1917.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE OF ½d. IN THE POUND
AS SECURITY FOR LOAN OF £4,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Petone Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be
raised by the said Petone Borough Council, under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the sewerage
drainage scheme at present being laid down within the Petone
