to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1908, for the Mount Roskill Road District ; the appoint-
ment to date as from the 22nd June, 1917.

Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of
Officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial
Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the appointments, promotions, resig-
nations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the
N.Z. Staff Corps and Territorial Force :—

NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.

Captain Frank Hudson performed the duties of Camp Ad-
jutant, Awapuni Camp, from the 15th May, 1917, and is
confirmed in the appointment as from that date. Dated
15th June, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND GARRISON ARTILLERY.

Auckland G.A. Division.

Lieutenant Angus Gordon Macdonald, from the N.Z. Army
Service Corps (No. 2 Company), to be Lieutenant (super-
numerary to Establishment). Dated 29th May, 1917.

Wellington G.A. Division.

Captain Vivian Palmer Haughton, N.Z. Expeditionary Force,
is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establish-
ment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz.,
Lieutenant, as from 26th September, 1914 (vide New Zea-
land Gazette No. 30, of the 25th February, 1915) ; to date
from 12th July, 1917.

CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.

No. 1 Field Company.

The notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 91,
of the 31st May, 1917, relating to Lieutenant Allan Norman
Oakey, should read “to date from 4th May, 1916,” and
not as therein stated.

NEW ZEALAND RAILWAY BATTALIONS.

Edward Leonard Hornibrook, Assistant Director of Works
(Administrative Duties), is granted the honorary rank of
Captain (temp.) whilst so employed, and is attached to
Headquarters, North Island Battalion. Dated 19th June,
1917.

NEW ZEALAND POST AND TELEGRAPH CORPS.

North Island.

Sergeant William Charles Edwin Hudson to be 2nd Lieu-
tenant (on probation). Dated 19th June, 1917.

1ST (CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.

Coast Defence Detachment.

Lieutenant Lawrence Frederick Corson (since deceased),
posted to N.Z. Expeditionary Force Reinforcements on
4th April, 1916, returned to duty with the regiment on
24th February, 1917.

5TH (WELLINGTON) REGIMENT.

The undermentioned Captains to be Majors, under the
provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913.
Dated 18th June, 1917.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Cyril
Lindsay Andrews lapses, under the provisions of para-
graph 89, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 8th June,
1917.

NEW ZEALAND ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

Lieutenant Angus Gordon Macdonald, No. 2 Company, is
transferred to the New Zealand Garrison Artillery, Auck-
land G.A. Division. Dated 29th May, 1917.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Robert
Nicholas Todd is confirmed.

NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.

Walter William Moore, M.B., B.S., N.Z. University, to be
Captain (temp.) whilst doing duty with the N.Z. Expedi-
tionary Force. Dated 4th June, 1917.

William Douglas Fitzgerald, M.B., B.S., to be Lieutenant.
Dated 1st June, 1917.

Captain Peter McNab, M.B., B.S., Edin., is retired. Dated
28th April, 1917.

Captain William McAra, M.B., Ch.B., N.Z. Univ., is retired.
Dated 13th May, 1917.
