Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, aud not required
for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the
Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise
howsoever, for any public work is not required for such
public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council
publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold
under the conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of
any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government
work, and not required for that purpose, the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without
complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid
section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be
Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon
the land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was acquired for the purposes of a road: And whereas the
said road has been stopped, and it is desirable to declare the
land contained therein to be Crown land:
And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister
has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be
Crown land:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-
recited Acts, and of all other powers in anyway enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto
to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that
such land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of stopped road declared
to be Crown land:-

particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42089,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day
day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block II,
Nukumaru Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under the Public Works
Act, 1908, for a certain public work-to wit, for the pur-
poses of a road in Block II, Nukumaru Survey District:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law
to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such
land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been
observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every
other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes of a road; and I do also hereby declare that this
Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Altering Regulations for Trout and Perch Fishing in the
Wellington Acclimatization District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this second day
of July, 1917.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS it is enacted in Part II of the Fisheries Act,
1908, that the Governor-General in Council may
from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make regu-
lations to have force and effect throughout New Zealand or
only in such waters or places as are specified in the regula-
tions: And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-
seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and six,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 75, of the
thirtieth day of the same month, regulations for the Welling-
ton Acclimatization District were made fixing, among other
things, the open and close season for trout and perch: And
whereas it is desirable to amend such regulations in respect
of perch:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all
other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, notwithstanding
anything contained in the aforesaid regulations of the twenty-
seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and six,
the Secretary of the Wellington Acclimatization Society, or
any person authorized by the said Secretary in that behalf,
may issue a license in the form set forth in the First Schedule
hereto to any person on payment of the sum of five shillings,
authorizing the holder to fish for perch in that part of the
Wellington Acclimatization District described in either the
Second Schedule or the Third Schedule hereto, for the period
commencing on the first day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen, and ending on the thirtieth day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both
days inclusive.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
LICENSE TO FISH FOR PERCH.
Fisheries Act, 1908, and Amendments.
THE holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address],
[Calling or occupation], having this day paid the sum of 5s.,
is hereby authorized to fish for perch within that part of the
